Hey everyone! Adam, from TFG radio, here to be like everyone else and talk about recent space marine news.
Well, there was a bit of a surprise recently when Games Workshop decided to drop an FAQ bomb on the competitive scene. It has cause quite a stir in the competitive community. There are plenty of places to go to read, hear, and talk about the contents of the FAQ, and plenty of people have opinions about them. But what about the poor space marines themselves? Does no one have a care on how the space marines must now suffer? Here are a few examples.
Imperial Fists
The poor boys in yellow. How they must be suffering. The changes to the way the doctrines works has really gutted the effectiveness of an Imperial Fists army. I mean how are they supposed to completely obliterate your army by turn 2 if they can’t stay in devastator doctrine the whole game? Now they will have to rely more on their paltry chapter doctrine/trait and the anemic Vigilus detachment to carry them through. I just don’t know how they’ll be able to do it with s detachment that can generate a ton of mortal words with centurions. Why must they suffer so?
Raven Guard
I don’t know how a Raven Guard player can continue playing the army after such a targeted attack to their stratagems. The ruling that centurions cannot benefit from the ” Master of Ambush” stratagem is a crime against humanity. So what are they supposed to do now? Deep strike them? Use aggressors instead? Find some other tactical maneuver that the army could perform to make it more efficient? And don’t get me started on how this now crappy army will be stuck in the assault doctrine for possibly half the game while using those aggressor that have power fists. I really don’t know how a Raven Guard player will be able to overcome this devastating setback. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.
Iron Hands
Probably the most picked on codex of them all, the poo Iron Hands. They finally get their own book after 30 years and it is made obsolete in a matter of months. All because of players were jealous of the codex’s success. It wasn’t even that back, with only a 95% win rate(I’m pretty sure that’s a fact). That’s not even close to a 100% win rate so there really wasn’t an issue. Being able to have a character dreadnought wade through a whole army’s shooting, only taking 3 wounds then healing those wounds, was perfectly fine for the game. I don’t know why they needed to be punished so badly. I really don’t see how someone can even play this army now. Maybe with a bunch of intercessor, Feirros, and a Apothecary. I simply can’t understand why Games Workshop would punish all those long standing Iron Hands players. In any case, I will buy all your unwanted Leviathans for $5 cash!
That’s all for this week. What do think of the FAQ and why is Games Workshop so mean to space marines? Let us know in the comments section below. Don’t forget to visit our Facebook, Twitch, and Patreon pages to stay up to date on what we’re up to and when episodes drop!
