LVO 2020 Studio Preview

The 2020 LVO produced some big news for the world of wargaming!

WOWEE ZOWEE! What a warhammer preview we had this very evening! The worlds of warhammer, age of sigmar and all the rest of the beautiful games we know and love are getting a whole lot more awesome!!!

First up for Warhammer 40k, we had the announcement of a brand new line of models in the eyes of the Omnissaiah. That’s right, your boys in the Adeptus Mechanicus are coming out in force with units that really flesh out a codex that has lacked options since their initial release. Take a look at these guys!!!!

Yes, those are robo-dogs. Yes, they are amazing.

The Serbyrus Sulphurhounds and Raiders provide highly mobile cavalry to the admech army. Highly mobile cavalry THAT BREATHE FIRE. That’s right, if you thought you wanted admech before but were a little annoyed about the lack of cyberdogs YOUR DAY HAS COME. I don’t know if you can tell, but I am about as excited I can be about these beautiful puppers.

On top of these best boys, the Cult Mechanicum have brought another new unit out of the forgeworlds and into our hearts with the release of the Pteraxii. What do you get when you cross the mind of Leonardo Da Vinci with a partially Mind-Slaved Machine-man? You get something spectacular: The Pteraxii.

We also saw the announcement of another upcoming book in the Psychic Awakening series: Engine War. The rules for the above units as well as the previously previewed Archeopter will be available in there, along with new Custom Forgeworlds, the forces of the Imperial Knight, Chaos Knights and Chaos Daemons.

Tag team, back again.

The fine presenters also confirmed that the Forgeworld Rules team has been officially been rolled in with the rest of the rules developers and we can expect new Forgeworld codexes to come into our homes with more finely honed rules for our resin minis.

And finally, perhaps the biggest news for fans of the 41st millenium we saw the announcement of one absolutely Waaaaghtastic model…Makari (and his sidekick). Head on over to Warhammer-Community.com for a full preview, with videos, of all of these amazing new bits of tech.

Now, as someone who attended the whole spectacle, you need to understand, they showed the first full-length trailer for the Angels of Death animated series and I still have goosebumps. The 13 year old bird that lays dormant within my aging, decrepit body practically screamed for the entire 1 minute and 40 seconds of the beautifully rendered Sons of Sanguinius. As a fan of the Space Vampires, I cannot help but be in love.

If you don’t thoroughly love Space Aztek Dinosaur Daemons then you are broken.

Over in the world of Age of Sigmar we had 2 HUGE announcements. The Seraphon 2.0 codex will be seeing release shortly with a ton of updates for your favorite scaly saviors of the realms (including word that they are becoming ‘more real’ as time goes on) and perhaps more importantly a brand new faction is making its way into the world; you know them as the ‘Pointy Aelves’ but we now know them as the Lumineth Realm-Lords.

Yes, that is Teclis with a Sphinx. Sure we all hated to play him in WHFB. BUT HE RIDES A SPHINX NOW SO GET OVER IT.

Hollleeeey jumpins look at that model. Sure it looks like Teclis may have raided an MC Hammer yard sale but I can overlook that because this thing is SMOKING hot. Teclis, god of Hysh is alive and in living color folks.

We also saw several other new units including the Vanari Dawnriders, the Auralan Wardens and most important to this poor old Warhammer Fantasy players heart, ‘The Light of Eltharion’.

He used to be so grim…
That is not a good looking doggo…which means it is probably a cat.

If you are a fan of Shadespire, The Wurmspat warband is making its way into your wallets. Featuring 2 new Putrid Blight King models and a creepy as heck Sorceror (ess?). This new warband promises to be a tough to kill addition to that line.

The closest thing to an Old One you’re going to see in the 41st Millenium

Last, but certainly not least, Blackstone Fortress will see its newest expansion feature an old Rogue Trader favorite when the Z.O.A.T returns to the battlefield. We’re told it will also feature rules to be played as an unaligned model in your 40k games! Your bird, the Falcon, still has his old pewter Zoat just hanging out in a cup of pennies on his desk. Maybe its time to bring it out of retirement!

Once again, for full coverage of everything that went down this evening, get your butts over to Warhammer-community.com. You’ll be able to get the full picture in picture that you always wanted right there.
