The Adepta Sororitas are almost ready to take to the battlefield,* as the new codex and the first wave of multipart plastic miniatures are up for pre-order this weekend. We’ve already shown some of the army-wide abilities available to the Sisters of Battle, as well as some of the other tricks they have up their habit sleeves, but today we’re taking a closer look at some of the new and updated rules that we’ve not yet covered.

Big Guns Never Tire…
…but they can get better! Take the Exorcist, for example. This iconic Adepta Sororitas vehicle has always been rightly feared for the devastating tank-busting capabilities of its Exorcist missile launcher. Now, the new kit includes an alternative primary weapon build – Exorcist conflagration rockets – designed to slaughter enemy infantry in their droves. Check out its brutal profile and you’ll see why we’re convinced that it’ll soon become as dreaded as the Exorcist’s original weapon…
With an AP of -2, even the most heavily armoured infantry will suffer from the sheer weight of firepower unleashed by the Exorcist conflagration rockets!
The Blazing Heart
You’ve seen the stunning miniature of Junith Eruita (standing regally in the Pulpit of Saint Holline’s Basilica, no less), but what is she like on the battlefield? Well, for starters, she’s the Canoness Superior of the Order of Our Martyred Lady, so her presence has an enormous impact on the warriors of her Order, but her pulpit also augments the Shield of Faith ability of all nearby Sisters!
That’s not all she brings to the party. Her favourite place to be is in the blazing heart of the enemy line, cracking skulls with the Mace of Castigation. In fact, she’s got a melee profile that rivals a Space Marines officer – and she’s not even genetically engineered for war!
With solid hitting power in melee and some devastating firepower at close range (courtesy of her pulpit’s two heavy flamers), as well as her two handy aura abilities, if you spearhead the attack of your Order of the Martyred Lady force with Junith Eruita, you can’t go far wrong.
Holy Statuary
In our preview of all the reveals that took place at the New Year Open Day, we showed off the Battle Sanctum – a stunning terrain piece that you can add to your Adepta Sororitas army to inspire the zealous firebrands of the Adeptus Ministorum. If you’re looking to make the most of your Acts of Faith,** be sure to add one of these to your forces along with a suitably fiery orator to get the God-Emperor’s attention!
Well, that’s another taster of what else you can look forward to mastering in the new codex. Speaking of which, if you really want to show your allegiance to the God-Emperor, you can pick up a thrice-blessed edition of the codex,*** complete with lavish detailing and special cover art. It’s holy aura is even said to influence luck in your favour…****
