Nerdery: Dune Movie Finishes Shooting

Sooooo hyped for this! Figured as we just took a closer look at our new Dunes FLG Mat, this was very apropos!

Filming on Dune wrapped up recently and the hype train is real. With the incredibly talented director Denis Villeneuve (Bladerunner 2049) who’s passionate about the project leading a seriously stacked cast, this could be a home-run.

With how Star Wars has been stumbling lately, this could be the opportunity for a new SciFi franchise to steal the crown. As Dune is (IMO) the greatest science fiction work created, this is shaping up to be something special.

Here’s to hoping! The first (of 2) initial Dune movies is scheduled to debut in November of 2020.

      1. I agree on both counts, and it’s a bit of a gamble for Momoa. He’s got a tiny role in Dune but becomes the main character by God Emperor. Let’s hope they make it that far (and beyond!)

  1. With his love letter to Blade Runner fans with the sequel that blew me away I am soooo looking forward to to this as well. uncompromising vision and damn the executive’s cry’s to make it more main stream (aka boring) for a higher box office makes him one of my favorite living directors.
