Hey everyone! Adam, from TFG Radio, here to talk with my best buddies, you, the reading audience!
I believe I have mentioned that I used to be good, back in the day. In the days of 3rd and 4th edition I played in a lot of events. Although there weren’t as many grand tournaments as there are today, there was still at least one locally, and it was run by Games Workshop, I was fortunate enough to attend all the Los Angeles Grand Tournaments that Games Workshop ran until they decided to stop doing them. I placed fairly well at the grand tournament, and would win or be in contention for many of the local Rogue Trader Tournaments, since then, due to adulting, and now running and judging more events, I have not really made a concerted effort to try to make a serious run in a grand tournament. Now that has all changed since I broke the secret tech on how I’m going to win every tournament: Iron Hands!
I know what you’re saying: “But Adam, Iron hands aren’t very good”, but you are wrong. They have a lot of good attributes that many people look over. Where to even start? I mean there are not a lot of good units to choose from. That being said, here are a couple of gems that you may not know about. Don’t tell anyone else, it’ll be a secret between us. First off, they have a 6+ “Feel No Pain”. We all know how easy it is to roll 6’s so this rule is great. Then there is the fact that their vehicles double the number of wounds when you determine what level they are at in their damage chart. This ability is okay, but a great general like myself has found a way to make it work. There are also a number of stratagems that I have found that will help the army. Whether its a stratagem that halves damage on a dreadnought, or one that allows be to target a model for extra killyness, these hidden gems will shock and surprise everyone. That’s not all. I found a new character that no one uses by the name of Feirros. The buffs he gives are “meh” at best but my tactical genius has figured a way to make some use of him. He is a bit pricey at 110 points but I’ll somehow manage. There is also a relic the further boosts the durability of the army that I have not seen played yet. Thankfully my intense look into the minidex led me to discover this underused relic. Don’t even get me started on how this helps with my Repulsers, and Executioners. This new minidex even helps out the poor Leviathan dreadnought. Until this minidex was released, this poor Forgeworld model was one of the worst ever made. It saw very little use on the field of battle and only through my genius has this red-headed stepchild of the Imperium now shown in the spotlight. I have really outdone myself finding all these great combos that no one else can see.
I know that many of you are surprise by these hard to find combos that I have discovered. I mean a lot of these were buried deep in the vaults of knowledge and very difficult to uncover. not everyone has the generalship to create the right combo moves to orchestrate the destruction of one’s enemies. I know that this army is fragile and easy to beat, even with all the tricks I have discovered. Luckily my generalship is enough to cover any weaknesses of the army or any mistakes that I may make. Although that last part is highly unlikely*. I really do feel sorry for my opponents when they are paired against me at any tournament I attend. It’s not easy being this good and handsome, all in one package. I think I will challenge myself more and switch to Aeldari after seeing the Psychic Awakening teasers. They need all the help they can get.
That’s all for this week, I hope you enjoyed the read. Let me know your thoughts, and your favorite winning combos, in the comments section. Don’t forget to visit our Facebook, Twitch, and Patreon pages to stay up to date on what we’re up to and when episodes drop!
