All of the incredible new models that come with Blackstone Fortress: Escalation also have datasheets for Warhammer 40,000. Whether you fight for the Imperium or the Dark Gods, you’ll soon have some new units to choose from.

Armed with a matching pair of pistols, Rogue Trader Murad is the finest gunslinger since the Kellermorph first drew its guns.* If she doesn’t move, she can pump out a hail of bullets, meaning that she always gets the upper hand in any “negotiations”.
The Crusader is just as sharp as the power sword that he carries into battle. When he fights, it’s as though the God-Emperor himself guides Gotfret’s hand, adding to his already considerable skill.
What’s more, if you field him alongside Taddeus the Purifier from Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress, or any other Ministorum Priest, Gotfret won’t take up any slots in your Detachment!
Like all Psykers, Aradia knows the Smite psychic power. She also wields a new power, Psychic Augment, which increases the accuracy of a nearby unit – perfect for a special weapons team armed with plasma guns.
This Technoarcheologist has dedicated his life to tracking down and analysing mysterious artefacts. He brings one such cryptic device with him to the battlefield, which has the power to repair or to kill.**
He’s also equipped with an omniscanner, which lets you improve the accuracy of nearby units.
No-one quite knows where the Servitor X-101 came from, but it’s clearly been outfitted for salvage duties with various industrial loading and hauling attachments.*** Of course, if an enemy vehicle isn’t quite ready for salvage yet, X-101 can ensure that it soon will be.
The Chaos Cultists from Escalation are amazing value for their points. If you need a unit to camp on an objective while pumping out fire with their heavy stubber and grenade launcher, look no further!
Inside the confines of the Blackstone Fortress, the Firebrand’s hellfire torch is deadly. Well, it’s no less devastating on the other battlefields of the 41st Millennium. Barbecued loyalists, anyone? (Or barbecued Tyranids, Aeldari, T’au…)
The new hostiles in Escalation all get the same rule as the hostiles from Blackstone Fortress – Servants of the Abyss. This means that you can set them all up at the same time as their master if he’s in your army.
All of these models come in the new expansion, Blackstone Fortress: Escalation, which is available to pre-order from tomorrow! Make sure that you also grab a copy of Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress so that you are totally prepared to undertake dangerous quests in this mysterious space station.
* Although Imperial doctrine states that the Kellermorph is just a backwater myth.
** Make sure that you have it set to the correct option before turning it on!
*** And a big gun of course! It is the 41st Millennium, after all…
And remember, Frontline Gaming sells gaming products at a discount, every day in their webcart!
Some really strong buffs for Guard and AdMech in there!
Guard Scions in the Drop Force with the new Psyker would get exploding hits on a 4+, wow. A single Command Squad would average 10 hits with 8 shots, lol. If they had re-rolls of 1’s to hit it would be even crazier.
A blob squad with BS 3+ and FRF, SRF is mighty strong. If they’re Catachan, +1 to hit in melee as well….
Bullgryn hitting on 2’s, oh my.
And +1 to hit for AdMech on a single target….oof. So strong.
AdMech character is looking REALLY strong.
Some questions remain:
– is he a (named) HQ?
– More importantly: will he be locked to mars.
IIRC they’re all unique models, named characters. I can’t recall what forgeworld he was but looks like Mars.
Nice, that’s such a boost to a Martian gunline with Robots.
Robots hitting on 3’s with Cawl rerolls, or just preventing -1 to hit.
Yeah, I’m glad to see Mars in particular and the the Imperium in general getting a bunch more special rules and unique characters, they were so lacking in them before that it really felt kind of unfair. Honestly, I hope they errata this guy to be +2 or +3 to hit, because as it stands right now he’s not very good and is kind of marginal. Maybe he also should prevent people from taking invuln saves against the weapons, too, depends on the point cost I guess.
Careful AP, they might not detect the sarcasm.
Well the Imperium needs a way to combat Eldar -10 to hit shenanigans 😉
They’re both incredibly good.
Kind of crazy strong abilities for a bunch of named characters from BSF/a boardgame, but I’m guessing they will end up being normal abilities for their factions later with new codexes. Really really strong +1 to hit stuff, and the rogue trader herself is no slouch either.
IMPERIAL MODEL ABILITIES: Bonuses to hit, mortal wounds, exploding hits, more bonuses to hit, rerolls.
CHAOS MODEL ABILITIES: More expensive than a Guardsman for the same price, deployment requirements
Looks good, chief!
It could be worse Abuse… you could be a Necron player and watch the parade of new plasic models and campaign books with detachments pass you by like your not even playing the same game anymore. 😉
*cries in 6000pts of Necrons*
6000 pts in what edition?
I am sorry bro. Someday we will get Codex writers that really gives a damn instead of the “meh” good enough. I live for the someday. (Started at the tail end of 7th)
Only got 3000points so far and I loath add to it with FineCast horrible models.
Alright, lol, dry your eyes a bit. Necrons are doing quite well in the meta even without the new shiny models =P
I know I know. 🙂 We have one list that can place in top 5 (3 Doomsday Arks, 3 DoomScythes, Fill with bikes or T-Immortals)
I am interested to see if we see Necrons fall off a cliff with the New Marine Codex. The 6 games I have tested out with them I have been Tabled 4 times lost all. D-Arks are T6 with a 4+ so they pop with ease. Those Relic Whirlwind are indirect fire 4D3 S7, AP-2, and D2 (strat to shoot again) and Blue boys make them hit on 2’s is just MEAN. 😛
Also Pro tip don’t even think about trying to bring out blocks of Warriors they melt and you will be pretty much wiped at turn 2. (I vailed of darkness up a block of 20… one Aspex Scan later and I had 8 to shoot with)
I will be seeing if this is just my luck/playing(mostly playing I am sure) or will we see the stats play out in next months events that allow new Marines.
