Hello, fellow Warhammer 40k fans! SaltyJohn from TFG Radio, and one of the Las Vegas Open Head Judges, here to bring you another article reviewing the ITC Standings for the 2019 season with the new scoring method in place.
March is almost behind us, putting us into almost two full months of the 2019 ITC season. That also puts us close to the April Big FAQ from GW and the end of the testing period for the ITC Secondaries changes. Make sure you give your feedback on the missions to your TOs and Judges as we are going to be discussing those with them soon! This week we saw some new people jump into the top ten overall in the ITC rankings, and one of our top 10 is also currently ranked number 1 in the Hobby Track! Let’s take a quick look at those players.
We’ve got a big representation from the Imperial Knights in the top ten right now. Daniel Hesters and Michael Ralston continue to rack up those points with some big finishes at RTTs and Hesters coming in second at two GTs already this year! The number of GTs each month across the entire ITC has just ballooned the last two seasons. It seems like there’s a GT every week in every Region these days! The number of Majors has grown at a similar rate. I think there might actually be a Major a Month if not more, for the entire season. Really great to see Competitive 40k grow like this. Colin Sherman is jumping into the top 10 this week on the back of 3 number one finishes with his Tyranids, including a first-place finish at the Tau Tipping GT. Great work Colin. Colin Sherman is one of the main contributors to the Best in Faction podcast. I suggest you check it out.
The team rankings are continuing to be a bit fluid with Beast Coast dropping from third to 4th by a scant 6.23 points! CanHammer, Brohammer, Team Draco, Peace Through Dakka, and the other teams in the hunt better get a good showing at the ATC this year as that is generally the deciding factor for the best team.
I think it is pretty cool that Colin Sherman is currently in the top 10 of the ITC and the top-ranked player in the ITC for the Hobby Track. A lot of the top players do paint and hobby well too. Sean Nayden who has taken Renaissance Man at LVO numerous times comes to mind immediately as a great player who is also great at the hobby side of 40k. Great work Colin, getting yourself into the top 10 so early in the season with impressive wins and into the top spot of the Hobby Track with, what I assume, is a great looking army! Wait, it’s 2019 and the internet provides!
If you have played, or are currently playing, in the ITC then you know there are Faction Rankings too. The ITC is considering changing how Best in Faction Rankings are scored and a poll was created to gauge what you, the people, want. Click the link below (the picture) to vote!
As always let me know what you thought of this week’s article in the comments.
