Hey everyone! Adam, from TFG Radio, back once again to give you the protection you need from the nefarious forces of chaos.
As we get closer to the Vigilus 2 release, we are seeing a lot of attention being paid to the various legions and warbands that call the Eye of Terror their home. As of this writing, we have seen previews for most of the legions. Some are goos, some are ok, some are less than ok, to put it mildly. We are still missing a couple legions. One of the ones that we are still waiting for is Emperor’s Children.
I’m not here to talk about possible units, or abilities they may get from Games Workshop. What I am going to talk about is how there are other aspects of the god of excess than what you typically see. What I’ve been seeing in a lot of places are slaanesh themed models with a few extra add ons. This is fine with most models as Games Workshop has always nurtured the players to customize their models however they want. The issue is that many players take the sexual aspect of the pleasure god to the extreme. You see daemon, or chaos space marines, with over exaggerated breasts. or with large phallic devices on the model. I have even seen a slaanesh themed chaos knight with a phallic plastic part that actually rotated**. The thing is that there is more to this god than people care to explore. Slaanesh appeals to other aspects of human nature, not just the sexual ones. The Emperor’s Children show this in their quest for perfection in all things. This helped in their eventual fall to chaos. Things like artistry, gluttony, sound, and charisma all fall under the domain of Slaanesh. This allows for other ways to portray the followers of the Dark Prince and will hopefully show others the many sides of “She who thirsts”.
Look, I get it. You probably haven’t felt the loving touch of a woman(or man, I don’t judge). As a result, you express this frustration by over accentuating the sexual aspects of Slaanesh. I know Games Workshop doesn’t help when they release models with 6 breasts hardly any clothes for him/her. The thing is that because the hobby is reaching a larger audience, there is more exposure with people of all ages, even though the target age is around 14+. I know there are more tasteful custom models that have been created, and that’s great, but it can sometimes make it hard to get new people into the hobby if they see you licking your over sexualized Slaanesh models while playing a game***. So try to think outside the box when building your custom Slaanesh models, hopefully it won’t drive away any possible real life romantic encounters.
