ITC News: This Week’s Rankings, New Algorithm and All!
SaltyJohn
Hello, fellow Warhammer 40k fans! SaltyJohn from TFG Radio, and one of the Las Vegas Open Head Judges, here to bring you my first article reviewing the ITC Standings for the 2019 season with the new scoring method in place!
Last week I wrote my article without the new scoring in place. This week though it is in place and in full swing! Making the top 10 markedly different from last week to this week. It is exciting to have a system that counts RTTs and GTs for a bit more and levels out the huge events a tad. Here is the current top 10.
With two number one showings under his belt Jim Vesal is in first place with 577.01 points and only 3 events! John Lennon a noted player from Florida sits in 5th place this week. Representing GSC this season it seems, John finished 1st place at two RTTs so far and 2nd in his 3rd for a whopping 484.08 out of just 3 events! Richard Siegler has taken Tau to every event he has entered this season so far, finishing 1st twice, fifth, and ninth. Impressive for an army that people consistently put as just outside top tier. Colin Coons has taken Deathwatch, the new Space Marine hotness, to three events and earned himself the 10th spot in the ITC for this week. Well done.
Danny Stewart has piloted Orks so far this season to very respectable 9th place on our leader board. Colin McDade has played a different primary faction at all 3 of his events so far! He won an event with Imperial Knights, finished 14th with Custodes, and 4th with Alaitoc. A true jack of all armies it would seem, sitting at 8th place overall.
With the new scoring the current top teams had a bit of a shakeup from what I had in there last week. So let’s take a quick look at that before we wrap up this week’s ITC news with some Chaos.
So last week the big news release wise was Abaddon being previewed by GW. This week it is a crazy Chaos Lord/Warpsmith/Daemon Engine thing that looks crazy and looks like it might be really good in a Daemon Engine Chaos Army! I am sure you’ve seen these already but they’re too good not to share before I finish this article off.
There are some GTs and Majors on the horizon for the ITC so stay tuned for some big movement on the leaderboards. Next week I will check back in with the Faction leaders now that the new scoring is in place and see what it going on in the battle for Best in Faction!
