Jason and Reece are dong a special show to talk about the new Vigilus release. If you’d like to join the conversation follow us on twitch and be notified when we go live!
We discuss fluff and joke around a bit until 13:30.
And remember, Frontline Gaming sells gaming products at a discount, every day in their webcart!
Hey guys, the ads on mobile are still absolutely brutal. First I have to close an ad that slides up from the bottom of the page and takes up 1/5th of the screen, and then the page looks like this:

It makes the site an absolute chore to navigate, on Android anyway.
I’m not getting any pop-ups any more on my android device, but there are some more ads than usual (like 2 or 3 than we had) which helps a lot to pay for the blog. The GW ad, bio, newsletter, bottom ads, etc. were all already there. That’s not new, the only new thing is the mini slider and the top and mid article ads. Running this thing is not cheap and they do help boost revenue quite a bit.
As for the ads at the bottom of the page, you can check them out of course but those are under the content. So if you want to avoid them just don’t scroll down? Not sure what to say on that one, sorry.
I mean, I get it, ads are annoying but they’re also important to help monetize the site and keep this train chugging along as like I said, the total cost to run the blog is considerable. If it didn’t help cover costs as much as it does we wouldn’t bother.
Yeah, sorry, I didn’t mean to complain, I get you’ve got a site to run and it’s not cheap, especially considering the volume of content you guys put out. The ones at the bottom of the page appear above some other site content stuff, but you’re right, not a big deal. It doesn’t look like that on my laptop so I thought maybe you were still having problems with it. My two cents is it’s a bit over the top, there are times when there are like three lines of content and the rest of my screen is advertisements, but yeah man, pay your bills, don’t mind me.
Speaking of paying your bills, I don’t have a twitch account so I can’t subscribe to your channel, and I’m Canadian so the currency conversion combined with the shipping makes buying GW product from you a bit prohibitive, but I would be more than happy to support you guys if you ever get a patreon or something like that going. I’d be glad to pay you for your content.
Yeah, I hear you. I thought long and hard about upping the ads but it literally quadrupled ad revenue, so, that is significant. We actually compensate our writers, too, so this helps a ton to cover that, server fees, etc.
And yeah! Thanks so much. Frankie is actually working on a Patreon for FLG/ITC to help cover the costs involved in running it all. Very encouraging to hear it would be well received.
Im so stoked for Vigilus. I think the campaign is really great, really shows how far GW has come. As great as the old campaigns like Armageddon and what not go, I have fond memories, but the presentation, detail and inclusion of multiple factions is really something. The narrative has a good balance of grim dark/fun like the Chaos/Imperial/Eldar vs the wackiness of the Orks. Also its easy to digest too.
The detachments are likewise awesome. The IG and Eldar ones are pretty damn awesome, same for the Primaris. While the Ad Mech ones gives a much needed boost for a somewhat limited army (they are a young faction which is important to remember).
The IG ones do seem a tiny bit much in a few areas.. like I dont understand why Space Marines cant do the stuff Guardsmen can do, but hey… its good to have Guardsmen kick ass like they do in this edition. The 6th and 7th days were long and brutal for them, its good to see them remain strong and evolve a bit too.
Overall an excellent book IMO. Really looking forward to Part 2.Great coverage by you guys as well. You guys hit both angles story/rules really well. I’ve been disappointed in their narrative offerings in recent years but this one really is strong.
Yeah, this book is a home run. I really dig it! I am excited to switch things up with some of my lists. As I play Iyanden, Astra Militarum, Marines, and a Kan Wall for Orks I really get the feels goods from it =)
Glad you’re liking it too, buddy!
Thanks for the review – I might get enough enthusiasm up to paint all my primaris marines with this new stuff.
That swiftstrike stratagem is awesome, it is a strictly superior version of what Skinks do in AoS and it is why they are one of the best battleline units in that game. Punch someone in the face and then grab an objective. I almost wish I had the bikes for it.
It’s very good!
I feel like the +1 to hit on a wounded target RWing stratagem is overlooked. It combined with the point drops of multimelta, typhoon ML, Landspeeders, and all bikes makes taking a fast Heavy weapon so much more appealing. Also it makes Black Knights having assault plasma be able to safely supercharge without Speed of the Raven(or use them both for 2+ plasma talons).
I agree, Ravenwing got massively more appealing with these two books.
