GW Grognard: Waiting for the Other Shoe to Drop

Adam here to talk about 40K and chew bubblegum, and I’m all out of bubblegum!

Hey all! Adam, from TFG Radio, here for another week of 40K story time. Now I am not a patient man. During this time of the season, Christmas, if I am giving gifts I want them to open up the presents as soon as possible. I have always tried to see what gifts I would get, when I was younger, around my birthday and the holidays. Even as an adult, I would try to get things done, or things that I wanted, as soon as possible. This attitude also extends to people. Depending on the situation, there have been times where my impatience has been a hindrance, this is espesially true when I believe something bad is about to happen. This attitude extends to my hobby of 40K, in a number of ways.

Recently, Games Workshop has made a number of announcements at the Vigilus Weekender. There is a lot to take it, but it looks like there is something for everyone. There are plenty of podcasts, blogs, and YouTube channels that will go over each announcement. i am actually excited for most of them. Even if I don’t play some of the armies, like Ultramarines, or play a lot of narrative game, I am still looking forward to the what is coming down the pipe. I really enjoy that Games Workshop is advancing the story line, and I can’t wait to see the campaign book in my hands. i’m hoping this leads to a Black Legion codex, but who knows. I like all the new models, but what I am really anxious to see is really just Chapter Approved. The sooner, the better.

If you listen to the show, you know that I am currently playing Imperial Knights. Earlier this year, the army took a hit when they changed a few stratagems for the army, and, more importantly, they restricted the amount of command points you were allowed to accrue during a match play game. These adjustments caused the stock of Knights to dip a little. I know that Games Workshop is not done, however. Most, if not all, of us expect something more to be done to Imperial Knights, in the form of points adjustments. This is the part that is killing me. I know something will happen, I know what form it will take. The issue I’m having is the waiting. We are only a few weeks out of Chapter Approved’s release. I can’t wait. I want to know now as to what form, and how severe, the punishment to Knights will be. I want to know as soon as possible, so that I can start making adjustments to the army. This anxiousness that i have also extends to all the other armies that I have. I want to know what adjustments have been made, good or bad, and how this changes the game. I don’t like having to wait for the shoe(s) to drop. Hurry, and drop the shoe, GW, so I can begin the process of moving on.

That’s all for this week, I hope you enjoyed the read. Let me know your thoughts, and what you are looking forward to (or dreading) in Chapter Approved, in the comments section.
