Just do the normal breps again. No need for editing if that didn’t pay off. Just stream a game of 40k that you’d play anyway. What you lose production wise is compensated by what you get salt wise.
lol, salt power!
But it is honestly very disruptive to do the bat reps, streaming is even more time intensive and we weren’t really getting much of a payoff on it.
If we were doing it on our own time it would be no big deal but when we do get time off the last thing we want to do is film a bat rep, haha. Until we come up with a viable strategy to reach more people it simply isn’t worth the time and money it takes to produce them, even with minimal editing.
Streaming a game takes a minimum of 3 people, 4 if you want to do it well. That’s 4 staff members on the clock (possible 2-3 if we have a volunteer come in to play) that are getting paid to do that but not other work. It just isn’t a viable game-plan at this point in time for us, but, we are 100% open to coming back to it if we figure out a way to make it more effective in either generating revenue or reaching new people.
Do you think that the format of the later BatReps made a difference?
Watching a look-down view of the battle with a presenter commentating about hilights was difficult. The presentation of the lists was good, but the rest seemed a mess.
I cant wait to fight some Drukhari! (Ynnari need an update on those Craftworld shenanigans tho). After reviewing the itc scores even though I probably wont come close to placing top 50 being a casual tournament player, it is satisfying seeing my name in CSM top 15 and with updated scores should become around rank 5 in faction after this weekend. I probably wont come within 100 points of Nick Nanavati , not even close hes on a whole another level, but if I place top 100 overall end of season Ill be amazed with how many skilled players there are this edition.
Hey man, top 5 is awesome! Nicely done.
Btw, can you explain the forgebane box rules?
Right now it has admech points changes and since “newest datasheet” applies:
1. Since it is not available on gw.com for free, am I supposed to buy a box with another faction to play?
2. Why are the admech changes so weird: every CA change is reverted(or as I’m almost 100% sure – forgotten) and the sniper cost is lowered?
What is different in Forgebane? I don’t have it open in front of me.
And for the most part, go off of CA. Obviously the new stuff in Forgebane you use as is, though.
Dominus and rangers got all CA pts reductions reverted(because admech are doing so well you see :p)(aka it’s probably a mistake), however the transonic sniperbus got a pts drop which made everything seem confusing.
If you have the box you have to use those new values for rangers and dominus per RAW. However that opens up a big can of worms of some people using one value and some using the other. But if you day “everyone has to use forgebane” then you force people to buy a box with another faction(no official free pdf of rules). It’s just weird and I’d like it cleared up.
Just use CA.
Shame about the bat-reps. I’m a big time fan. The turn by turn breakdown by each player is so insightful. No one else does that… But I totally get the time management thing. Hopefully you guys will be able to do a bat-rep once in awhile when a big exciting release comes out. Anyway great stuff and a great episode. Loved the DE breakdown. Couldn’t agree with you guys more
Man, just another reason I wish I lived near you guys…producing streams/bat-reps would finally make me feel like these last 15years in broadcasting & video editing haven’t been a huge mistake! lol
lol, we’d love the help!
