Wow, tons of AMAZING stuff on the way from Games Workshop! Read on to see all of the exciting reveals.
What an awesome time it must have been to see all of this live! Plastic Sisters, a new faction for Age of Sigmar, new Imperial Knights and more! Going to the big community hobby events is not just a great time but also an opportunity to see all of these amazing things in person AND to get event exclusive miniatures!
New Imperial Knights! So awesome.
The next three 40k Codexes: Imperial Knights, Harlequins, and Deathwatch! Which are you most excited for?
As any Warhammer Age of Sigmar player will tell you, Warscroll Builder is an invaluable tool for writing army lists. And to be honest, it’s long past time we had something similar for Warhammer 40,000.
Enter Tom Hewitt. Rollcall has been up and running for a while now, and Tom’s done a great job on it. In fact, we liked Tom’s take on a Warhammer 40,000 army builder so much that we decided to team up with him to create Combat Roster.
Just like Warscroll Builder, Combat Roster will be a free online tool (and will remain so) and will sit alongside it on the Warhammer Community site.
Don’t worry, matched play fans – we haven’t forgotten you! Combat Roster will later be joined by a Warhammer 40,000 app, a bespoke digital companion to the 41st Millennium, which will feature a matched play list builder.
Ah, FINALLY! They previewed this one at NOVA Open and so stoked to see it on the way as the community really needs a list building app for 40k, badly.
The Idoneth Deepkin: Revealed
WOW! These new AoS Idoneth Deepkin look outstanding!

Raw Magic Unleashed
The magical forces of Nagash are causing issues….
Warhammer Age of Sigmar Champions
An Age of Sigmar collectable card game? Yup, that’s totally happening.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar Champions is being developed by our friends at PlayFusion, and we’re really excited to see what they do with it.
The Independent Event Exclusive Miniature
Over the past few years, we’ve been lucky enough to support and attend some fantastic independent events round the world, with AdeptiCon being just one of the highlights of our calendar. The passion of the organisers and attendees of these events has been nothing short of inspirational, and we really wanted to do something extra special to reward their commitment to the Warhammer hobby. So, starting at AdeptiCon 2019, we’ll be introducing all-new miniatures and giving them exclusively to events like AdeptiCon and their attendees. Here’s an early concept of what that first miniature might look like:
And there was new news about Whit Dwarf and GW asking questions about the future of the magazine, GW keeping older models in circulation with made to order models and casual play rules.
But, best for last: Sisters of Battle inbound!
Yup, plastic Sisters of Battle are on their way. For reals.
We know many of you have been waiting patiently (and impatiently…) for a long time for the Adepta Sororitas, and that for many of you this is more than ‘just’ a new army. So, we’re going to do something we’ve never done before – right up until the release, we’ll be bringing you updates on the Sisters of Battle, sharing images and snippets of info and a whole ton of behind the scenes goodness.
Emperor willing, the Battle Sisters of the Adepta Sororitas will be ready to take the fight to the renegade, the heretic and the unbeliever in 2019.
So much cool stuff to look forward to it is hard to know where to begin! What are you most excited for?
And remember, Frontline Gaming sells gaming products at a discount, every day in their webcart!
Special event miniatures are something I really love. The primaris range needs some more varaition. Would be really cool to get one of those to paint up.
Plastic sisters? Finally!! What took them so long.
Awesome!!
New knight? *drools*
C´mmon geedub, put the correct point costs on them! It looks freaking incredible and hopefully it will synergise well with the existing knights and mini knights.
This is awesome news, damn but I paint to slow for all this, hehe.
Plastic sisters?!? Someone should tell GW that they’re a bit early for April Fools Day.
I just got like 70 from raging heroes but if they come up with new stuff, like some on bikes or whatever that would be cool.
No joke, watch the video =)
I’m really looking forward to the Deathwatch codex. They need some help in 8th edition, and I would love to be able to bring the army to tournaments after spending so long painting them up!
They and the Grey Knights feel like they are in an awkward spot with new models likely focused on Primaris. Although their shoulder pads and heads should fit those too I think?
Maybe it’s just the match ups I play, but I’ve always fought the Grey Knights a really tough opponent. Why are they struggling so much?
No idea what they’re doing, I’m just talking about model releases.
GK have some very strong units (especially the Grandmaster Dreadknight and Strike Squad), but they suffer from a lack of variety- if Storm Bolters or Nemesis Weapons don’t kill it efficiently, you’re basically screwed. As a result, a “pure” GK army is incredibly vulnerable to a lot of things, including tanks, monsters, airplanes, and any army that brings an effective screening force.
GK allied with other Imperial armies can be quite dangerous, however, as there are lots of aggressive options that can help shore up its weaknesses.
I definitely do agree with AngryPanda here, though- GK’s big problem has always been its limited model range and small selection of units. It would benefit them a lot if they saw another 1-2 kits that could build, say, two units each (in the same manner their current ones can.)
It shouldn’t be too hard for them to put GK heads and shoulder pads on a few more troop types. On the other hand, I know everyone is all “pure X should be the thing” and Imperial Soup sucks! but in my head, Grey Knights are still that elite anti-demon unit that is supposed to join another army. So if they’d go there I wouldn’t mind.
Seeing how even Custodes got their own Codex I somehow doubt it though.
The new Knight is incredible. It looks like a smaller Warlord Titan.
Yeah it is awesome!
Look, it’s taken me a over a year and I’m almost done painting my Stormcast, you can’t go and throw two amazing looking elf armies at me like this GW, I have neither the time nor the money! (I mean, I say that but I’m still gonna get em’ both…)
Also plastic Sisters next year, at least I’ve got a break on the finances there
Those new aquatic themed elves are indeed amazing!
They took so long my first reaction was sadly “Oh just cut them out already so I can just play them as Blood Angels and be done with it” but of course the Sisters thing is good for all the people still waiting and you know actually getting some religious warriors in the setting that is so much about it.
I honestly still can’t quite believe they are actually doing Sisters. There is a big part of me that is fairly sure this is just going to be a “five monopose plastics for a board game” or “pdf mini-codex with a single HQ model” kind of nonsense again.
That might just be what happens. My expectations for them are so low at this point that it should be impossible to feel let down. If anyone can somehow still limbo under a bar that fell on the floor and make it look easy it is GW though.
The is a small evil part of me that hopes GW is starting the largest troll ever on their own community and just wanted to reset the clock by having everyone talk about sisters.
Release date: April 1st 2019
