- The SoCal Open is a tabletop gaming convention held in beautiful Del mar, California, October 27th and 28th! Registration is now open and tickets are selling fast! This is going to be a huge year for this event and we’re excited to see how big it grows.
- GW has announced the Forgebane Pre-order going live next week! This new battle in a box set features Necrons with a new Cryptek and some cool special rules vs. AdMech with the boss looking new mini-knights, the Knight Armigers.
- The team had a chance to try out Star Wars Legion, and they liked it.
- We received a very funny and awesome surprise from the Riot Games team, WWAD bracelets (What Would Alex Do?) which is too funny, very cool and we will be handing them out at the SoCal Open to remind us all that you can have fun and play it cool in any circumstances. Also, we included the video explaining the whole incident leading up to this for those interested.

A few years ago I would have gone CRAZY for Star Wars legion, but “the Last Jedi” movie completely eroded away my affection for the Star Wars universe.

Yeah, 40k is meant to be a minis game first. Legion is cool but certainly not going to dethrone 40k IMO.
Wow, gw is terrible at pricing hybrid and big units. 227 for the mini-knight? Really? Do they hate making money?
It’s like they don’t understand how hybrid units work.
Most of the time it’ll either shoot or punch. Not both. However they’re priced as if they do both every damn turn. And since they’re hybrids, they are not great at shooting and not great at melee.
The worst examples of this are the hybrid units with Heavy weapons. You want them in combat… But if you move to get in combat, your BS goes to crap. So you either stand and shoot (where you could just as easily get a dedicated shooting unit to do the job better) or you try to move and shoot in order to get into melee (which is how you should use them) and once you’re in melee(which you’re only OK at), you can’t shoot anyway.
They should just be priced at the better gun’s value + 5/10% points or the worse gun. Not +50/100% like they are now.
