News
- It is almost go time! Can’t believe we’re nearly there but this past year has come and gone in a hurry and now it is time for the biggest and best LVO ever. Attendance is way up and we’re excited to see just how many folks we have! Here’s some things to remember:
- Bring chapstick and maybe skin lotion if you are not used to the dry Vegas climate. Also, drink lots of water.
- Get involved! Have fun meeting new gamers and making friends. Consider the social events, seminars, pub crawl, etc. There’s tons of fun stuff to do beyond just the tournaments.
- The hotel is booked solid for normal rooms, so hopefully you all got your rooms taken care of!
- Remember please, no outside food and drink in the hall, even if you bought it in the Casino.
- Some 40k rules questions we have been getting asked and answers for the LVO.
- Please remember to get your list uploaded in BCP for the various tournaments ahead of time. If you don’t see your name on the reg list (still quite a few of you not there) email Frankie at: Frankie@FrontlineGaming.org.
- The deadline to get any changes made to your ITC score or to submit results is this Monday the 22nd of January at midnight, PST. After that, scores are locked down!
- DO NOT LOSE your con badge wrist band. You have to have it on at all times and if you don’t will be removed from the event. If you lose it, you will have to buy another one.
- We can’t wait to see everyone there!
- GW announced the next two codexes: Adeptus Custodes and Thousand Sons! Here’s some more info on the Custodes.

The wording of the Dread Strat leaves it open to use with Forgeworld stuff…
What do you mean specifically?
It doesn’t specify Venerable or Contemptor, whereas the Land Raider one specifies Venerable.
Meaning, FW dreads work RAW with that strategem.
Sure, so long as it is an Adeptus Custodes Dreadnought. I don’t think it’s a big deal though?
It is great for people who are hoping the FW Dreads will be the things ported over and that they function well with the army. GW wording codex strategems so they can be used with FW Dreads is important because it means GW wrote the Codex with FW in mind.
Obviously if you don’t care for the FW stuff this won’t matter to you.
You may be jumping to some conclusions there, but I can see why you would.
Are you implying that GW isn’t porting FW stuff like they said they would or that they are bringing over stuff other than any dreads?
Question about model requirements in tournaments.
What about all the old models:
small hive tyrands(easy to hide)
bloodletters on tiny bases(easy to pile in and fight with all of them)
Why not just take those to all tournaments? Is there something to prevent that in LVO?
PS: I’m not doing it but I see plenty of people talking about stuff like this. “Why can’t I use my old GUO?”, “I have bloodletters from 200x” or whatever
I’m curious about the GUO. My friend had only recently purchased the old one, when newbie was announced. It seems to me it’d be fine, he’s easier to block LOS but his aura is smaller and he can’t tag as many units in melee. I’m also interested because I’ve thought about picking up an old metal BThirster so we can have old dorky Greater Deamons together.
We require models be close to the same shape and size as the most current version of a model. Also, models like Bloodletters should indeed be on 32mm models as it makes a big difference in their performance.
I’m starting to think GW should start specifying what base size each unit comes on in its rules because of this issue.
Yeah, agreed. It would be great to have something official for matched play games.
This so much. I got a box of Warp Talons for Christmas that had 8th edition rules included, but still had 25mm bases included. -__-
Looking forward to LVO as always! The Montana guy will be there again!
See you all!
Awesome! See you gents there!
I have a strong feeling that Leaky Banana will announce the Necron codex at the LVO. I’m already spreading the word and planning a celebration trip for us Necron players to Jasons home. Since we will arrive in the evening we will bring torches and liquor. It will be so much fun!
Ok, I’m kidding. Just want to make sure that no one actually shows up outside Jasons home. But if you do, bring some snacks for me too.
Oh, forgot. Reece get off Salty Bananas’ back, he’s obviously important for us Necron playahs. We’ll take care of you Salty Banana, don’t worry about it.
lolol
… well I appreciate the need for consistency.. but asking people to rebase all thier models seems unreasonable. Especially as they keep changing without warning.
Black bears eat dead things, so they’ll just eat you completely even if you try and play dead. Are also very fast, with a weapon you could win yeah. But you’d get banged up
Polar bears have been known to just stalk and hunt humans in their area, so yeah they’ll kill you too.
