These very cool Primaris Aggressors look great!
They were painted by the FLG Paint Studio at our new “Tournament Standard” paint level which is how we’re going to paint the entire army. It’s quick and very affordable and gets your army up to a tournament standard for playing it ASAP. The cool thing about it is if you like to hobby, it gets you cleaned, built, and base coated at a reasonable rate and you can do the fun parts from there, highlighting, detailing, etc. Or, when you’ve got some more money in your pocket, you can send it back and we can bring it up to a Tabletotop or Tabletop Plus standard at a later date.
These Aggressors also feature level 3 basing as I really wanted them on the awesome GW bases to make them look cooler.
I have to admit, these Primaris Marines are absolutely awesome. I was a bit lukewarm on them at first but now seeing how great they look in person I am sold on them big time. Hopefully during this experiment we can find ways to make them really effective on the tabletop, too!
Aggressors are going to be interesting tactically. I think with some of the Chapters that give them a means to get into range quickly they will be great, such as with Ravenguard, Space Wolves, etc. However with other Chapter hoofing it may be a challenge. I think the Repulsor may be frequently delivering these guys up the table. Even if just to start in it and then disembark for the extra movement on turn 1. We shall soon see!
Next up for painting: Reivers!
And remember, Frontline Gaming sells gaming products at a discount, every day in their webcart!
Love this prohect, but really not a fan of the red trim with the orange. They meld together too much at a distance based on that photo for me.
Good luck!
Funny, a couple guys in the office said the same thing. We tried blue too, but the people watching the stream voted red. We considered black which I think would work well but we ended up sticking with red.
Love this project and will follow it along! My 2 cwnts though, the red does not work with the orange…the trim should pop, not blend.
Aggressors also make a great choice for Auspex scan during a back line deep strike. I have had opponents underestimate their dakka multiple times and take a painful amount of shots for it. I usually run a set of 5 with boltstorm and set them up to bait just that, 60 + 10d6 shots will kill many things.
Also, It is good to see your commitment to sparkle motion. These guys look tight.
That’s a good strategy, I will certainly try employing that one myself.
Love the colour, what orange is that?
Thanks! I actually don’t remember which Orange. The brightest shade though, Trollslayer I think? It’s a GW airbrush paint.

I went orange/light blue/dark gray
I love orange marines
While that does look fantastic, I’m not sure the name “DARKshroud” still really applies 😉
Those look awesome, Mr. Meatball.
Glad you went with orange! I always love uncommon colors.
I’m really surprised and impressed how good the tournament level paint job looks! I was skeptical when i first heard about this paint level and I’m glad to see I was completely wrong in my doubts. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, glad you like it! And yeah, the Tournament Standard looks solid. Not a lot of detail, but for the price it gets you an army that is good to go. And, if you go with a higher basing scheme as I did on these, it REALLY sets them off, makes a huge difference.
Does FLG have a custom space marine chapter with lore. If not, why on earth not? Also if not, it seems that now would be a great time to make one.
I personally do, but no we don’t. However, this is a great opportunity to do so!
