Those nerfs were crazy.
And, no Necron/Tau points changes? lame
No Index point changes for Tau and no stated codex for imminent release. I think I’ll pass on the purchase of chapter approved because of that alone.
Why do you think there are no points changes for T’au or Necrons? If you read the Faction rules section of the book it gives you an explanation, it just doesn’t hit you over the head with it.
The book leaked. The only Necron and T’au points changes are a few Forgeworld things, nothing Citadel.
Of the T’au FW points changes, half were to bring it inline with FAQs, and the rest for titan level stuff.
i think he is hinting at… their codex’s will be out soon. No point in changing points in chapter approved for it to be changed again in a month.
That’d make sense, I thought he was implying we need to read the book to find the points changes at first.
I try not to hint at anything, just indiciate where folks may be jumping to false conclusions based on a lack of facts. It is understandable, given the information you all have it does seem weird.
I meant for non Forge World stuff from the online leaks. I don’t personally play with forge world stuff. What I see with my imperfect information is that all the effort went into forge world points adjustments.
If a codex release is imminent then I can understand not spending time on index points. But I have no idea on GWs pipeline. The track record on GW releases is that there will be full leaks prior to release so GW should have put out a statement for Necrons/Tau not getting index point adjustments for reason X or updated even a token number of models with modest point total changes.
Imminent release for Tau could be end of March which is 4 months from now. Imminent release could be late January or however unlikely they could be the last codex released. However I only have speculation rumors and a big old goose egg for Tau index unit adjustments in the latest greatest annual army balance release when that wasn’t what I was expecting based off of GWs advertising.
Without a point change at all the message is either the points are perfect or GW doesn’t care to make any adjustments. Which makes me not want to buy the book or at least wait until I can read it in store.

Gah forgot to call that out. Forge world is fine people can play with their toys. I care about the core range so if I missed it anywhere else just to be clear I mean index units lol
Also joining in on the “not buying it” train due to the supreme lack of content. A bit expensive for what translates to little more than a few pages of points.
Bit of a shame, really expected a lot after people spoke so highly of the generals handbook.
Since I own some Forge World models that were likely affected by this, I basically need to buy it. As someone who enjoys mixing up matched and narrative play, though, the new missions are a plus for me. I guess whether you buy this or not depends on what you want out of the game.
Also, I’ve been lol’ing at the people complaining about this book on social media. Calling it “tabletop DLC” and conspiracy mongering about GW “forcing them to buy it to keep playing.” Really, though, GW isn’t forcing anyone to buy this book. Many of the people complaining are probably the same people demanding a more balanced game for years. And then they complain when GW makes an effort. Make up your minds, people! 😉
