GW Previews the Space Marine Codex!

Wow, this look to be an awesome addition to the game! We get more info on the Primaris Marines, and the existing Chapters of Marines. I for one can’t wait to see how the community reacts to the Codexes being introduced into the game.

What do you hope to get out of the Space marine codex? Also, as always as soon as you see this go up on GW’s site, you can pre-order it from Frontline Gaming at a discount and with FREE shipping within the continental USA for orders over $99!

  1. As a Imperial Fists player I just hope we don’t get the lame ‘you do extra damage versus buildings and fortification’ garbage. Bolter Drill was good but looks like that isn’t going to happen. I’m also a big fan of Vindicators but they seem a bit over priced in this edition so far. Linebreaker may help as a strategem but if it is 2 or 3 CPs I can’t see it helping much. I just hope that all the Chapters get something useful so we see stuff other than UM everywhere. I am not convinced they will get this right this early in the game, but fingers crossed.

      1. I doubt that anybody who invested nearly 1000 bucks into a 7th ed Battle Company including the transports will be happy after the Codex went live…

        1. I understand what you’re saying but the investment in to the models isn’t wasted. You can still use them. The army just plays differently now and, for the better of the game, IMO. Battle Company was good for the time but was a slooooow army to play. The game needed to shrink down a bit to go back to a reasonable time frame.

        2. Maybe if the only reason you got them was for tournament play. I know I will be getting a full Primaris battle company to paint up & display knowing full well I probably will never fit 100+ Primaris marines & their toys into a 2k game. It’s just nice to have the models! (Also, a full battle company in apoc games is terrific fun as long as you don’t mind getting slaughtered by titans & the like.)

        3. Somehow I don’t feel sorry for someone who spent a lot of money investing in a bloated army that gave an unreal number of free points.

You can still play battle company. You just have to actually pay for it now.

        1. Specifically, any chance you reassure us on two fronts:

          1) None of the chapter tactics are comically, game-wreckingly powerful. Looking at you, 7e White Scars.

          2) CSM legion rules aren’t going to be arbitrarily terrible by comparison.

  2. Hoping my boy Pedro Kantor comes in rocking some cool stuff with the chapter tactics. Been slowly working on a veteran and scout army for these guys to represent their diminished chapter.
