Frankie is using the Junkticrons per Twitch subscribers’ request. He’s working with the models we have so there are some limitations but he’s making a run with it!

  1. Blah really want to watch this one! Stupid responsibilities. Go Frankie!

Reece, what do you think of the Mechanized Troops SW vs melee stuff like TWC and Wulfen? Do you think the more elite units are weaker now with multidamage weapons or do you just like the MSU a bit more?

  2. Shame about the dice. Reecius do you think this list could work by replacing the grey hunters with jump pack wolf guard rocking combi bolters and plasma or does it need the durability of the razorbacks?

  3. Hello Frontline!

I have enjoyed your coverage for a few years now so I thought I’d say hi and thanks for all the hard work!

This looks like a tough match up for the Necrons. The problem, once again, appears to be the lack of anti tank shooting. I have had similar problems in my games and have been keeping an eye on your battle reports to see how you handle it.

Necron anti tank guns have great profiles but cost so many points that bringing a sufficient quantity reduces your ability to handle infantry and objectives. I would be interested to see you try using Doomsday Arks (if you have the models) as I have been pleasantly surprised by their performance. As an anti tank weapon they perform as you might expect- a powerful gun that has difficulty getting line of sight (deploying them sideways helps a lot despite looking somewhat silly). The advantage they have over other anti tank options is that they work very well as a mobile anti infantry tool, moving 12″ and using the Gauss flayers. On paper they’re overpriced in either role but they seem to do good work in testing.

Also, Quantum shielding seems a lot better when you can stay outside of 24″, this makes the DDA very durably when sitting back using the main gun and is why I would strongly recommend switching to the two Heavy Gauss Cannons on the stalker. The stalker works well with the DDAs as it is also fast and able to support anti infantry guns when necessary. A HGC Stalker and two DDAs have worked well for me so far.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to watching this one when I get time. Keep up the good work!
