Frankie’s T’au army is mean, and packs a punch. The mobility will be tough for the much slower Ynnari army to deal with.

Go Iyanden!
I feel dirty cheering for Eldar but I love the Spirithost army so much!
It is a super fun army!
Reece,
Do you still plan on taking starcannons with the FAQ change? Going from 3damage to D3 damage is a pretty serious hit, with no price decrease to match
Ah yes, good catch, will swap. That’s my old list.
Had they been damage 3 throughout the play test? Feel like the errata was just to fix a typo. Like how +s were missing or even damage values in some of the indexs.
Also you probably can’t say but did you only play test the indexs or were codexs involved.
Can’t answer those questions, sorry =(
What are you planning on taking instead?
Longstrike and his hammerhead buddy will destroy that WK.
I hope not!
better off just with some crisis fusions =D or trip ions.
Longstrike and Friends are way, way better than Crisis at killing big targets. Hitting on 2s, wounding on 3s or even 2s.
I play a similar Tau list although it’s all Commanders and Gun Drones with the Markerlights on Cadre Fireblades. Curious to see what kind of damage output this list can do, so many Missile Pods may have problems with the bigger Wraiths.
I certainly hope they do, lol!
my prediction is that commanders lift harder than the hammerheads
Hammerheads are beasts now when they got Longstrike around, although I’m not enamored with Frankie’s setup on them overall. SMS feels way too expensive compared to Drones when all it really does is push out your range a bit.
Should be fun!
Just joined in. Turn 1 and I see no hammerheads on the table. They can’t deep strike soooooooo….ouch?
Nevermind. They were zoomed in. Derp
NIce lists, and I’m watching the stream now.
A quick recommendation on the list format; could we have the total for a unit in the total column, as it easy to compare how much units costs without having to add up two other numbers.
Keep up the excellent work 🙂

What indicates that you have to pay for the forceshield on the Autach? I thought the the forceshield entry was for the wraithblades who specifically list it as a piece of wargear they may take in combination with the axes. Does this mean you have to pay for things such as spiritstones on the hemlock? How do you know when you have to pay for something that is not listed in the wargear section?
All wargear is paid for. Unless it’s a special named character where it says wargear included. Even the stuff their unit page says they come equipped with. Often times troops basic equipment is zero points cost though.
You have to pay for everything you have, the FAQ is quite clear about this. The fact that it is listed in the abilities section rather than somewhere else makes no difference.
Can you point me to where in the FAQ you are referring to?
Hmmm. Well, I’m either imagining it or overlooking it; I thought there was a question specifically about this with regard to one of the Tyranid units.
I had a look through all of the FAQ material as well and I couldn’t see it either. It is late at night where I am so I may have missed it but if you do find it please let us know.
That seems inconsistent to me, as there are other abilities such as the serpent shield on the wave serpent where you don’t have to pay for it because no points value exists for it.
I have only really looked at Eldar so far this edition, do you have any examples of similar abilities being payed for in other factions?
Pretty sure you have to pay for all ‘wargear’
Then a lot of models have additional ‘abilities’ which are just bonus rules
Autarch Forceshield = Ability, like Archon’s shadowfield
Wraithguard Forceshield = Wargear
Wave Serpent Spirit Stones = Wargear
Hemlock Wraithfighter Spirit Stones = Ability
Anyway, great matchup, great stream, thanks so much for all the work FLG, it has been a blast seeing all these games so frequently!

I agree, that is how I interpreted it and that makes sense to me given the inconsistencies with which abilities have a points cost and which ones don’t. It seems a lot more likely that the naming of the abilities the same was a coincidence in the few cases where it happens.
It is easy to see the argument why you do have to pay for it though so a clarification would help.
The FAQ specifies otherwise- abilities that are named the same as wargear still have to be paid for.
Fun is that marine captains get Iron halo, that does not have a point cost, Autarch gets shield as ability which technically is a wargear but not listed as one. One would be free 4++ (Iron Halo) and for the other you’d need to cough the points.
That is exactly why I originally assumed that you don’t pay for abilities. There are so many units that get abilities that you don’t have to pay for, so to me it doesn’t make sense that you have to pay for abilities. Additionally the points sections says, “not including wargear”, so to me that means that includes everything except the wargear which is listed specifically in the wargear section. I could see the argument if people were saying that it was misplaced and that it was meant to be in the wargear section, but saying that you have to pay for some abilities but not others doesn’t make sense to me.
Reece any reason you don’t take a warlock/spiritseer.
I’ve also tried running a foot-based wraith host and I’ve found conceal to be a fantastic ranged damage mitigator. You could comfortably drop a couple of weapon options to squeeze one in
