Reecius brings out a very 5th edition looking Space Wolves army to see how it performs in the context of 8th ed 40k. It features mobility, firepower and some decent melee, too.

Who do you think will win?
Just looking at the GK list, I think Psycannons are 20pts for terminator models and 14 for power armour
Sorry for extra post, but looks like there are no storm bolters purchased for terminators or paladins either
This was the first time the Raw Dogger wrote a list in 8th, I wrote the others for him. He will make the changes.
I was just hoping it was insider information and I was about to get 14 point paladin psycannons 😀
Haha, unfortunately not.
Go Hot Dog…I mean Raw Dogger! I am also testing and refining my GK choices – last week was Razorbacks and Godhammer, this week is Razorbacks and 2 NDK 🙂 A bit bummed though that they lost the shunt but still looks like a beast!
Should be quite good!
Hey when Frankie gets back, can you guys ask him to play with his mastadon>? Im thinking about buying one.
He doesn’t have a Mastadon, sorry.
O shoot my bad. I thought he had one for his minotaurs army.
Not to my knowledge, anyway, haha
wheres the best place to view, previous flg paint studio completed projects? the new site doesnt have as much as before.
This is what we’ve got: https://www.flgpaintstudio.com/
Or check the Dakka thread I have updated over the years: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/420/487842.page#9457866
As a Space Wolves player, I am extremely excited about this fight tonight! Do us proud Reecius!
For the All Father, aooooo!!
Kick butt Reece! For Russ!
Russ was pleased this day =)
Nice job, missed the stream but ill check out the vod. I also noticed you taking an extra ML long fang, totally didnt realize that was a thing. Gonna have to test it out.
Yeah, you mean taking units of 6 with 5 Missile Launchers? Totally a thing =)
Yeah, is that new with 8th? If not I would feel a bit silly for not trying that out in the past haha.
As far as wolves go though, I got a lot of adjustments to make I think. My blackmanes drop pod formation list is kind of… obselete lol.
Nope, they’ve always been able to do it 🙂 give it a shot! And yeah, drop pod armies in general are a bit lacking right now, however drop pods are still good, but you only end up taking a few, probably 1.
How do you think a SW list like the one you played would fare in a competitive environment? I have been struggling to build a solid competitive TAC list given the sheer amount of spam that we’re seeing. One thing I have been looking closely at is Wolf Guard. Given their ability to take 2 chainswords and a storm bolter, I think they are well suited to an anti-horde role in an army. 10 dudes can put out 40 shots at 12″ and follow up with 41 melee attacks. Not too shabby.
Would you really get 4 attacks each? The way I read it, by attacking with a chainsword, you get +1 attack, so by picking one of ur chainswords you get 3 attacks.
I can understand your interpretation but, if you look at the rules for models equipped with multiple close combat weapons, it says you get to choose which weapon to use and that they may split attacks between them. Since Wolf Guard have two attacks base, I use chainsword A for one attack and chainsword B for the second attack for four attacks total.
This has also been confirmed in the most recent FAQ.
I dont have the index fully memorized but why do psycannons cost different for termies and non termies?
Termies lost relentless so the psycannon is equally crappy (as in there are no real anti tank weapons in the army outside razorbacks and expensive stormchickens) on both platforms.
Or did I remember something wrong?
