Hey everyone, Cranky Old Gamer here and I excited to finally say that a project that has long been on my “to be completed” shelf is finally done. A long while back I started a little conversion project for a Nurgle Daemon Prince, who I named “Lumpy” (for hopefully apparent reasons). Well, he sat in my “needs to be painted pile” for long enough, and I’m happy to say I’m really happy with how he turned out. It didn’t take me too long to paint him, and maybe it was just that I was working on other projects. But I got inspired to come back to him. What do you think?

Let’s go to our way-back machine to when I actually built this guy – was it really a year and a half ago? Time flies! Just like the buzzing flies of grandfather Nurgle I suppose… but I digress.

I posted to the blog about how I constructed him. Here’s that blog post to see the construction and conversion aspects of Lumpy.
Here’s a picture of one of the later stages of his construction, just for reference here:

And here’s some pics of him finally painted. Feedback and questions welcome!

As always thanks for stopping by, and this post is testament to “you can always come back” to projects that are partially finished! Don’t give up on those old projects!

  1. Hey. I just stubled upon this trying to make a Nurgle Daemon Prince conversion myself and was looking for inspiration. I love the entire model, you did an amazing job.

I would like to know how you crafted the entire model to rip off some of your idea, but I would understand completely if that’s your own trade secret. At the very least, could you tell me what you used for the plague spewer? The spider legs, coming off the of the turtle shell’esque carpace added to the flamers looks very, very cool.

If you want to email me or comments back on here I’ll check back occasionally. Thanks for taking the time to read this at least.

    1. Not the OP, but I recognize the parts for the Plague Sprayer. The armoured shell is from a MaulerFiend’s Magma Cutter*, and the insectile legs are from the Chaos Spawn kit.

The other major bits used include a mechanical tentacle from a Talos/Chronos kit as the tail, and the head is from a Plague Drone of Nurgle. I think those are Zombie Dragon wings, but I’m not sure.

*The other part from the Magma Cutter is used at the join with the wings.
