Please do not send an army list in a format such as Army Builder, send them in an easy to read, typed format. Thanks!
Great as always! Today I “joined the conversation” while making breakfast, to which my wife asked “You’re listening to that nerd you like so much aren’t you?”
In regards the competitive forums/groups.
I think there is a level of… Self awareness both the poster and the commenter have to have. While the poster needs to have the ability to accept feedback and honesty, the commenter is… Maybe more often than not, either just “lol netlist” or “you’re bad, kys” on occasion. Lol
Everyone can improve, and “personality traits” are definitely an issue for some.
That is a very true statement. There are both sides to that coin. I find that most villification I have seen online and in person comes from a clash of personalities other then an actual fault from either person.
Totally. Some people don’t mix. Just happens. Follow the gentleman’s agreement of “not be a dick” to the best of our abilities.
So.. about Guilliman, what is the consensus of fielding the G-man in a Baronial Court? If you make him the formations baron, he becomes a Super-heavy walker, character unit type. So he moves 12 and has stomps.
The rules wise it should work due to nothing stopping G-man from joining him or becoming the formations Baron, but its a clear misuse of the rules as it wasnt the intent.
I don’t have the rulebook on me at the moment but I am pretty sure an av 0 vehicle with 0 hull points is not the most competitive model.
Well.. you dont become a vehicle, you just gain Super-heavy vehicle and character rules. It never says you become a vehicle, its just that you gain those rules.
You do see the contradiction in your own post right?
Let’s put this silliness to rest. First off the rule specifically states, the model gains the “Vehicle (Super heavy Walker, Character) unit type. So Guilliman does become a vehicle. They even specify what kind of vehicle. Not a tank, or chariot, or skimmer, but a Super Heavy Walker. So all of those rules apply to him.
After that, there are really two rules to define. “Reduced” and “Profile”. If you count reduced as a passive verb then Guilliman dies immediately. If you count “Reduced” as an active verb then Guilliman can never be killed because he has 0 Hull points. (Don’t bother arguing, the absence of hull points from his profile means he has 0).
Either way his unit Profile is changed to AV F/S/R. All of which are 0 (absence once again). So, basically he dies right away when you reduce his HPs to 0 in the list building step, or. He runs around with an Armor Value of 0 waiting for a stray lasgun to penetrate his armor and roll a 6.
Either way it isn’t worth taking him.
Or, you can’t do that and you should really stop wasting your time.
Enjoyed this one quite a bit.
Loved hearing the TFG guys go into detail of what that article was about. It’s just important to know yourself enough to work on what you can.
I think we are reaching a point where theory-crafting or list reviewing current 40k is over, while we wait for the new hotness.
I am really looking forward to things being simpler *Hopefully* so I can get more of my friends into the hobby. It’s daunting to show them the huge rule-book and say “Now also learn your book and everyone else’s.”
I’m scared of movement stats and BS modifiers hindering some armies much more than others without balancing other parts in their favor. I.E. Orkz being movement 4′ and not being able to shoot things or save any wounds. Bit scary thinking, but I have the faith.
Super excited to have a mini reset button tho so the playing field is more level for everyone.
Yeah, now that GW has made their big anmouncement I am pushing towards more generalized tactics.
I feel like my name gets brought up in nearly every podcast. I should start charging you. 😉
At least you listen to every podcast.
We should sponsor you. You have to wear a fake mustache though.
Great podcast guys, this was a lot of fun
