Oh man I wish I could have been a special guest to talk about this faction because the dispossessed are mah boys! Rules and fluff. One thing to mention is the Longbeards are very good for a couple reasons. One is you can take the great weapons on them in addition to the shields, where normally it’s one or the other. So they hit hard in melee and are reasonably tough, and on top of this they are a Battleline! A battleline which buffs other units. Have these guys at the core of any dispossessed army provides a big buff in synergy for the rest of the unit. I will be taking a force of dispossessed+stormcast eternals to the LVO, and you will be seeing this guy on my table (I couldn’t resist not showing him off): http://bitsaddiction.blogspot.com/2016/11/forthammer-clan-throng-warden-king-in.html
I will be painting him soon, but he counts as my Dwarf Lord on Shieldbearers, the centerpiece to my Duardin and engineer themed army. Great show guys, keep it up!
“We’re getting these (Emails/questions/comments)…. and our response right now is that we are not changing anything. . . not at least until after LVO” This a paraphrased statement from your first pod cast.
I think it’s put the bug out there that it is possible these things could be changed. You’ve opened the discussion and i think it’s one a lot of the player based want closed. Though as is said there are others who want it opened.
Later in the pod cast i believe it was said a vote could go out as people leave the tournament to see if it was would be something people would want changed.
It’s not what you say that matters it’s what people think you say. I think it’s pretty clear by how 40k is treated in the ITC the rules are up for a vote. As it’s your tournament scene you can do what you want. However, practising my arm is done at lots of different local game stores some of which follow ITC and some don’t. This means if i want to practise for my favorite part of war gaming which is tournaments i’d have to play ITC, but that would mean i’d lose out on 75% of my possible games. For this reason and because sci-fi is meh to me i’ve quit 40k. The only tournaments really available in the 40k scene are ITC, but when i want a pick up game is a coin flip on if the other person cares for ITC rulings or not.
Now see this is fine in a FAQ sense where ITC works simply to clarify complicated or weird rules. This is great because odds are if they dont play ITC the opponent will be confused on it, and i can just say “hey these guys play it this way, wanna give that a go??” But when it comes to rules changes i can’t look at the other guy and say “hey for your D guns wanna make em about half as effective, or hey mind if i start throwing blast templates are your invis guys.”
So when you start throwing out “it’s impossible to win against shooting that gets double turns, but i mean these guys say it’s no problem… but thats not my experience hahaah” It kills ALOT of my desire to keep painting up my 200 zombie army because i feel like it’s going to turn into the same thing where i have to play two different games.
Fair points, Garry. But no, we aren’t planning on changing any fundamental rules, no. When we said until after the LVO… we were talking about possibly changing missions, etc. It bears distinction.
We’re still learning the game, too. We’re not masters of the game by any stretch of the imagination so we’re trying to keep an open mind and learn how to get better. Jason is prone to hyperbole a bit, so bear that in mind. It is not in fact, impossible to win against a double turn of shooting, we just tend to lose in that situation, haha. I am sure in time, we will learn tactics for overcoming that.
Nice episode, the Dispossessed definitely have some good combos and abilities. I think they make a better mixed army with Fireslayers than solo (until they get Allegiance bonuses), but they are definitely pretty good. I’d also like to see you guy cover Elves, but there’s a lot there between the different types. I’m of the opinion that High Aelfs (Phoenix, Dragon, Eldritch, Lions) are extremely good and can devastate unprepared opponents.
Can’t wait for the BatRep! Keep playing and learning so we can all get better!

Hey, awesome article on your Lord! Would you like to repost that on FLG?
Also, we’d love to have you come on the show and talk some Duardin tactics.
I’ll email you guys photos when i get if painted, if you want that way you have a completed project to show. I did a lot of converting to my LVO army.
Awesome, looking forward to it!
