Invitational kicked off 2016 NOVA with an interesting game on round one with James Watkins Khorne Daemonkin all vehicle list against a SM/Sisters/INQ combination.

Game two featured Tomb King – Brett Perkins Brass Scorpion and zombies playing Sascha Edelkrauts all Slaanash list. Sascha showed just how dangerous the Slaanesh Chariots can be with the amazing threat bubble, impact hits and great positioning.

Third up we had Justin Curtis’ screamer star against Matt Schuchman’s Jetseer star. Matt managed to roll some of the worst psychic checks I’ve ever seen and dropped the game to some impressive play on Justin’s part. Highlights include a Str10 bolt of change destroying a void shield generator and Justin’s use of Exalted Flamers. This continues Matt’s streak of losing games on the NOVA stream.

Nick Nanavati and Tyler Devries ended out the night in an Eldar vs Necron match that saw Nick almost get tabled turn one by Tyler’s Pylons, but coming back to walk a warp hunter blast template from a unit of scarabs onto the untargetable pylon unit and decimate most of the characters. Two turns later and Nick’s brown magic and the game was won.
Justin Curtis outlasted Bretts Scorpion and Zombie to clinch a spot in the finals. Nick stated before the event that he didn’t think Daemons(which has has played for the last 5 years), could win the invitational so it is fitting that his opponent is running Daemons.

Miss anything? Vods are here:
This is such a great update! Love that you put up the lists too. Really appreciate it the little blurbs about how the matches went and ofcourse the vods. Looking forward to more!
Thanks for the updates and insights, it’s appreciated. Brett’s list is really cool, and as a Renegade player I’m interested in hearing about how it works. Maybe you FLG guys could interview him?
Did Nick or Justin win? The twitch link doesn’t say….
We switched to Torrent of Fire’s stream for the rest of the weekend. Nick did win early Sunday morning!
