This will be an interesting battle. Both armies are very flexible, having melee and shooting options. The War Convocation list has a lot of free points and tricks up its sleeve with Canticles and such while the KDK list can summon in powerful reinforcements and largely does not care about grav weaponry. The Dune Crawlers are problematic for any summoned Bloodthirsters and the Heldrake, but the War Convo will struggle to deal with the Khorne Hounds. The Dominus with the powerful Skryerskull will be a critical unit to deal with as he is a lynchpin for the War Convocation’s pnas for dealing with the Khorne Knight, who will otherwise run roughshod through their lines.

A renegade list without a Sorcerer Cabal, Fateweaver and a screamerstar? Heresy.
The only reason renegades exist are to take the most broken parts of every codex.
How’d you give the Knight +1 Invul?
Legacy of ruin gives an aura of +1 to all daemon of Khorne units.
I thought you could only take LoR if you are Chaos SM?
Nope forgeworld lets you take the chaos knight in Kdk CaDs, so it benefits from the blood for the blood God rule. You just have to take the mark of Khorne

You can take the Khorne Knight in KDK, I can’t remember the exact specifics off of the top of my head but we did rule you could also take the LoR for them.
A knight can take LoR when it is in a CSM CAD. I don’t believe Forgeworld ever gave permission for KDK to take LoR though so I think the list is illegal unless ITC is going by some mystery email I don’t know about.
I will simply play without it, don’t want to cause a fuss and I don’t have time to look it up at present. I know we ruled you could, I just don’t remember when or how.
Sorry if that came off as fussy. I am irritated with the state of FW FAQs on this stuff, not players who are trying to figure this out.

It says there that A Chaos Knight dedicated to Khorne
may be taken in a Codex: Khorne Daemonkin army, and in this case has the Blood for the Blood God! special rule.

Yeah I just looked it all up, the ITC ruled that chaos knights can take LoR, but LoR are only available to codex: chaos space marine, so of the current writing of the rules they kdk cannot not take any LoR.
It’s one of those just rules that’s dated

One of my best buds runs a Khorne knight with that sometimes to buff his Khorne dogs against alphastrike until he can make them invis or grim them. Usually he grims the knight and invises the khorne dogs.
Can you take multiple units of plague zombies? I thought I read you can take 1 unit if you are a nurgle covenent.
If you take the vraks army list, it’s as many as you want
Yeah, there are two Renegade army lists. It throws a lot of folks off.
Really looking forward to this game. Reece has been hyping up his KDK/Renegades list here and there for a while now :p.

The army Reece is using is the Renegades of Vraks from The Siege of Vraks book. There’s a slightly different Renegades and Heretics army which has more unit choices and some different upgrade options which is in IA 13: War Machines of the Lost and the Damned.

So the war con scryer skull doesnt work on grav or the knight, since it works on armor pen rolls (which grav doesnt do) and mechanicus forces (which imperial knights are not). I lost versus a war con player doing that at atc after he assured me thats how it worked, and after the game i looked it up and saw how the scryer skull was being played wrong.
Yep so many people play Scryer Skull wrong. I was one of them, then I saw in the FAQ that they cleared up a lot. The Skull only works on Skitarii and CM, not on the knight in a War Convocation. Also it only works on Armor pen rolls, not Haywire or grav rolls.
There is actually not a lot that the Scryer Skull does! I find it is good to buff up Robots fighting knights, but thats about it everything else that Admech use that is anti tank is Grav or Haywire primarily.
The Rapiers cannot have more than 3 additional crew. Would be nice tho.
How come no big artillery type units, like Basilisks/Earth shaker Cannons/Medusa Cannons, taken as part of the Renegades list? Are they not good? I would have thought adding an Independent KDK character with BFTBG rule to a big artillery unit, in order to get Blood Tithe points, would be the way to go!?!
