Hello everyone! I’m going to take a break from Ultramarine characters to share with you some of my favorite BAO 2016 pictures, complete with commentary!
The first pictures I want to start off with are the best painted awards. Tournament coverage in 40k is growing but is still very sparse so I thought I would lead off with showing you guys the players that won best appearance and their armies because hobbying is apart of tournament 40k too!
2nd Best Appearance
Vito and his blue Tau got second best appearance! Way to represent WCA man!
This is the best picture I could find of his Tau. I thought I got a snap shot but can’t seem to find it. Trust me, they are clean and gorgeous.
Best Appearance
Israel Sanchez has won best appearance a couple times in the past and we considered not allowing him to win this year, but then he walked in with a Manta as a display board….
Believe it or not, a lot of those models fit on that Manta
It even opens up
Here is the Air Caste Tau relaxing in thier luxury bridge.
The inside is lit and looks like it can hold at least 20 crisis suits.
Oh yeah, and his army is gorgeous too
3rd Best Overall
Good Job Ben Vaughn! It isn’t easy doing so well with Imperial Knights, no matter how pretty they look.
and they look good…
2nd Best Overall
Andrew Ford was on the top table in the final round with Eldar…. or are those Necrons?
Well, his Necrons did their best Eldar impression. And looked good doing it!
Best Overall
Lang Nelson won Renaissance Man with a beautiful Tau army and great general ship. I’m sure he would have liked the Belt of Russ but getting best overall among almost 200 people isn’t too shabby.
I wouldn’t know to fear his army or be awed by it if he were to stand across the table from me.
The Best of the Rest
Matt Root’s Junkyard Orks are the reason why I think competitive 40k and hobbying 40k do belong together. His army is beautiful and every model makes sense.
The winning Dark Angel’s Army
Some Minotaurs showing off the loot they “acquired” from other Space Marine Chapters
Nothing like a good Waaaaagh across a river of lava charging at an entrenched line of guardsmen to start off the weekend.
Not sure what I like most about this picture, the paint scheme, the fact that he has all his supplies, or the ITC logo in the center…
Burning Sword? Check. Vorpal Wings? Check. Toe in Terrain? Che…. Aw crap.
Creepy
This man’s entire army had freehand Jasmine flowers painted on it. My wife better not get any ideas.
Salamander’s sure know how to find the best display boards…
Kudos to this man for running 8 assassins and Legion of the Damned. He actually won a couple games.
What a pretty Blood Angels army, it’s too bad it isn’t likely to make the top 15… Oh wait.
What’s the next natural step after painting and modeling a beautiful army? If you guessed rotating display board and vanity mirror you win a cookie.
Just a group of Imperial Knights and their dates.
Incontrol’s librarius conclave hidden amongst some Ad Mech.
Not a 40k model, but I had to share it. Some people can just flat out paint.
Sometimes you just need to attempt to place higher than the sports team you’re rooting for…
These Pictures Speak for Themselves
Let the Reece memes commence….
The best way to show up on these pictures is to attend FLG events! The next one up is the LVO.
