Could I use modded and painted Fenrisian Wolves as stand ins for Khorne flesh hounds at the LVO? Said I had them painted real gory and on scary looking 50mm bases. Maybe some chaos bits here and there. I hate the failcast resin flesh hounds.
Plenty of players use the Chaos Warhounds on 50mm bases. I haven’t heard any complaints about it, at least not locally. They’re a good bit smaller than Flesh Hounds but if you put them on the same size base they’re not small enough that they would prevent LoS or anything like that.
And Chaos Warhounds are only $25 for 10 so you can splurge on some nice 50mm bases and they’re still way cheaper than the real thing 🙂
Yeah those look like a good fit. I want to try running a real dogstar + Cyclopian Cabal as my competitive army.
Vampire Counts Dire Wolves (or whatever the hell they’re called now) work well, too. Never had a complaint about mine.
Dire Wolves are my go-to as well. Warhounds are a little too small IMO, unless you really beef them up with a tall base.
