List Review (great list here)
Konichiwa from Japan! I was hoping you guys could help me out. I was trying to find a way to have a competitive Crimson Fist list cause I’m a fan of Pedro Cantor. I’m trying to make an effective build beyond the usual gladius, bike spam, etc.
The goal is flexible deployment, MSU with ObSec, some ability to deal with D-weapon units and take advantage of Chapter tactics and character abilities as best as possible. My meta isn’t so competitive, but I am. 😀
The list is only 1749 so far, but going to 1850:
Crimson Fist CAD – 1850
- Pedro Cantor
- Tigurius
- Scouts x10: heavy bolter
- Scouts x10: heavy bolter
- Scouts x5: heavy bolter
- 3 dedicated landspeeder storms
- Assault Centurions x3
- Terminators x5
- Dreadnought: twin-linked autocannon
- Drop pod
- StormRaven: twin linked lascannons, twin linked multi-melta
- Devastators x5: 4 Lascannons
- Devastators x5: 4 Lascannons
- 1749
The scouts combat squad down during deployment. The landspeeder storms act as gunships with the heavy bolters. They keep range as best as possible until need to take objectives. Can support Pedro in assault if necessary.
Pedro and Tigurius join the Assault centurions in the Storm Raven in reserve. They hard counter units like StormSurges, Wraithknights, or bike-stars. I threw on a dreadnought as well to run interference for my centurion star or otherwise support them when they deploy.
I put 5 termies in the drop pod to get them in 1st turn to where I need them and act as a distraction. I took regular termies over assault simply for surprise value and also the fact they might actually do some damage with their storm bolters in the 1st turn. Plus if they aren’t as threatening then it’s possible they may get ignored long enough to do something. But… do you think I should go with assault termies anyway in order to draw fire away from scouts?
I’m worried the storm raven won’t effectively deliver the centurions. Should I just go for a landraider instead? I’ll lose the little bit of anti-air I have though.
I have about 100 points to go, and not sure what to spend them on. Want to protect the devs, so bubble wrap units or maybe rhinos? Get some fast attack? Thought about using Sternguard as well but thought they’d be a bit of a glass hammer… anyway, any advice how to finish off the list would be appreciated.

——————————————–
I had to drop the dreadnought and put 5 assault terminators in instead. I gave two of them thunderhammer storm shields for defense.
Basically they will do the same thing as the regular terminators in the 1st turn. Force my opponent to shoot at them by getting in their face. And hopefully draw enough fire to keep my obsec units and devastators alive for a turn or two more.
I put a locator beacon on the drop pod to help draw fire to it as well. I won’t necessarily teleport in near the drop pod, but good to have the option and have my opponent to have to choose to deal with it or not.
Here’s the list:
Crimson Fist CAD – 1850
- Pedro Cantor
- Tigurius
- Scouts x10: heavy bolter
- Scouts x10: heavy bolter
- Scouts x5: heavy bolter
- 3 dedicated landspeeder storms
- Assault Centurions x3
- Terminators x5
- Assault terminators x5: 2x Thunderhammer & storm shield (sergent & another)
- Drop pod: locator beacon
- StormRaven: twin linked lascannons, twin linked multi-melta, searchlight
- Devastators x5: 4 Lascannons
- Devastators x5: 4 Lascannons
- 1850
June is to early for the bao man, lol. I hope I will have money the second it opens up. If not, im gonna be #1 on tge waitlist.
You mean the LVO?
Yeah, lvo. My bad
Psst… I think you meant Antares character, not Age of Sigmar character for Amano Harran.
Also, have you tried Antares yet? It’s actually really damn solid.
Corrected, thanks, and not yet, but Priestly is my man so I have faith it is a good game! Will have to get my hands on the rule book.
Another excellent episode.
Quick question, what was the Retaliation Cadre list Frankie mentioned he reviewed? I don’t see an article or anything from him. Or was it via email or something?
Can’t wait for LVO registrations!
Glad you enjoyed the show! That list will go up on Monday as an article with feedback. Frankie was quite impressed with it.
Yeah, we’re stoked to get LVO reg up and running! Just hammering out all the details, now.
I’m trying to imagine GW helping at an event and my mind just can’t do it.
Come join us at the event and see for yourself!
For me this doesn’t feel completly positive. After all these years in the hobby I don’t trust them to be a good influence. At the very least it bodes ill for the alternative minis/conversion bits that have gotten an ever increasing thing in armies.
Now on a less negative note, I’m actualy gonna try to make it happen but it’s a trip from Germany for me and I have to somehow juggle it with a surgery of indertimined date but probably near the end of the year. Probably won’t work but I’m still hoping.
Hey, understandable! Best of luck with that surgery, friend.
I remain optimistic with GW. I think them being there will be a positive and am happy to have them join us!
You mentioned dropping the termies for sternguads. Nicely enough, dropping all 10 termies gives you exactly enough for 2×5 sternguard with 4 combis and a droppod each.
Yeah, Sternguard are absolutely fantastic.
