We’ll get the poll results up today, guys. The shipment was supposed to come in yesterday but got delayed, nothing we could do about it, unfortunately. It takes a while to get everything unloaded but as soon as we’re done well come back to the shop and get the results calculated.
OK, nm, trying to get the data verified but day is running short. The shipments coming in late burned a day on us.
So far for sure:
1,850pts
3 Detachments
ITC Faction will be the detachment with the most points in it
Yes to Chaos Knight with Legacies
No to Eldar Corsair Jetbikes shooting then scooting in overwatch
So does this mean that a Chaos Knight can buy the First War of Armageddon legacy (+1 invul to Khorne) and then buy the Daemon Knight of Khorne upgrade to turn itself into a Daemon of Khorne and benefit from the +1 invul from the Legacy, or will it having the legacy be denied because now it’s a Daemon Engine?
It’s a sad day for the ITC. One of the best proposed changes to the tournament scene voted down. I guess people really enjoy seeing battle company moving on to objectives on turn 5 and winning with no risk of turn 6 due to time constraints.
Votes should not about targeting or screwing over a faction, despite the fact that some people feel that way when THEIR faction doesn’t get all the love they feel it deserves. Votes are about what people, in general, believe they want to play with and against. In this case, the vote was to play with more toys. It probably wasn’t a referendum to let Battle Company dominate the battlefield (which they didn’t at LVO).
I do agree that people need to speed up their games and play faster.
For the record, I played battle company last season and voted to drop down to 1650.
I am glad it is staying at 1850, I personally love bigger games and higher points limits but my games generally go fast and I also generally field smaller armies.
Would be fun to see something like an ‘ard boyz 2500 point format, if only just for fun. =)
So is there going to be extended game length since 1850 is confirmed or will there be a scoring sheet that lets judges know the game did not come to a natural conclusion? Really hoping longer length is inputed.
I would support for intel gathering this season more universally on whether or not games went to their natural conclusion. Would help make for more educated voting moving forward (assuming we make educated choices). Will also see how big the problem really is.
I do intend to purchase a timer to bring with me and keep track of play time since I play a horde army and am an obvious target for being accused of taking too long. In reviewing videos of my games I’ve found that even with a higher model count I’m taking about the same amount of time as others. It will also help encourage me to play faster.
I think the problem with 1850 winning is that there probably were alot alot of votes for both 1500 and 1650 but more 1850 i wonder if both 1500 and 1650 add up more to 1850 or not?. maybe should of voted if wanted a point change yes or no?
nvm i take back what i said i think they did ask if wanted points changed its a shame it seems that alot of people wanted the change well at least alot of the competitive people.
What a disappointment on the Corsair overwatch move. Clearly RAW lets them do it. And in a game where the power level is like 11/10 on every new release there’s no argument that it’s too powerful.
Have you actually played with or against corsairs? From the tone of your response I would think not.
This is why voting on things is getting out of hand in ITC. How many people voting on that have any experience of what corsairs are actually like and whether the rule is OP on the units that can actually have it?
I would appreciate still having the green tide as an option, however it would be a little ackward because it raises the question, “What do you do with the rest of the book.” There are some of the formations in the new book that use the same name but they changed slightly.
Would you allow the Great Waaagh detaching as well? Should ork players need need to choose which version of the book to play with; instead of picking the best rules out of each book?
Now about using the Apocalypse version of the Green Tide?
Reece, why was the corsair rule put up for a vote?
1) RAW is crystal-clear and undeniable that the RA move works in overwatch.
2) Nobody in the dang poll has ever played against a Corsair army. And whoever compared them to Warp Spiders – hilarious! They’re nowhere near on par with that unit/
3) It’s not even remotely overpowered, especially compared to the new units and formation power level coming out.
4) Forgeworld is confirming in emails that it’s *intended* to work in overwatch.
Reece, I strongly feel that you guys screwed up. There’s no sane reason that this should be up for a vote.
I was never going to play Corsairs in an ITC event but honestly this vote is the last straw for me considering entering another ITC tournament. If I want a proper competitive game of 40K I can get that at my local club or store when I discuss it first – at an ITC event it is pretty much impossible now. I would feel terrible coming up against a Corsairs player in ITC because we would both know the rules had been unfairly stacked against them by people voting out of ignorance and fear. My win would be easy, hollow and worthless.
I guess I could play games of nerfhammer but really why would I want to kid myself into thinking that this is any sort of competitive 40K when obviously it is not.
Reece, it’s clear that reckless abandon moves work in overwatch. The rules say that’s how it works and given that Forgeworld is confirming that they intended it to work this way, it makes no sense to call for a vote for ITC players to interpret it. There’s nothing to interpret.
And no, I don’t believe this was a vote to nerf something, it was interpretation all the way.
When will you guys post the poll results?
Poll results please. The suspense is killing me!

The rest to come very soon! Sorry for the delay.
1850 REJOICE!

Yes to shenanigans!

Sad day for you maybe, not the landslide of voters who like 1850.
Have we actually seen numbers? Was it a landslide, or a thin majority?

Personally I think you should do the podcast while unloading the truck.. shirtless. Fan service is sorely missed here with your media.
Oiled.
that was a great addition to an already funny comment!
Lmfao that would be great!

Right? Blur out the nibbly bits for the general feed.
Also are you guys able to identify and remove the rampant ballot box stuffing that the internet has been doing since the polls went up?
We filter the email addys for authenticity, but there’s certainly no rampant ballot stuffing, trust me.
late for Cali = super late for mid west
save us from the anticipation!
Scroll up.
ETA at least?

Yeah I think horde armies get picked on unfairly. In my experience barrage weapons, alpha strike armies eat up more time then my green tide does/did.
“does/did” 🙁 I don’t want it to be true.

/end complaining mode
Ya cuz Eldar really need another WarpSpider-like unit. The point of voting isn’t to clarify RAW/RAI, it is to fix things that GW/FW fuck up.

How does the saying go, if you try and make 100% of the people happy 100% of the time no one will be happy 100% of the time or something like that?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyranny_of_the_majority
Corsairs players were always going to be a tiny minority.
Thanks for suffering through the show!

All said far more eloquently by Charlie here http://elite40k.blogspot.co.uk/2016/02/rant-diseased-community.html
I strongly agree with C-Stock here.

All these RAW tau nerfs and now there is finally a RAW Eldar nerf and I can just taste all these sweet tears.
