Just looking at the lists, the Grey Knights don’t stand a chance.
I don’t even need to see the list, just the armies. Eldar vs GK? The GK doesn’t stand a chance.
I feel bad for that GK player. He didn’t even get to play a game. That’s the kind of Eldar list I’d look at and say “good game” and go find something fun to do.
sad I even watched the video
felt like Eldar could have just ran around and circles and still won.
too many MSU with extremely high effectiveness
Pretty sure he lost to mishaps, not Eldar. Even one unit with Cleansing Flame would have been painful for all the Jetbikes spread around for Board Control.
I do look forward to their inevitable rematch, hopefully the GK player can knock off his rust before then.
Chris was actually pretty adamant that Nick take back the mishap and just go into ongoing reserves, but Nick wanted to man-mode it out. 🙁
There will be plenty more videos featuring these two in the future!
That was a painful waste of time. When one guy brings a messing around for the fun of it GK army and the other guy spams spiders and scatpacks… I mean really. Great job showing how broken the game can be I guess?
I still enjoyed the game. Maybe the GK I brought isn’t considered super competitive, but I did my best to bring something strong.
I don’t think it was a painful waste of time lol. I suppose if you don’t like a game, don’t play it?

I enjoy the game just fine. If you don’t see the ridiculous disparity between the two army lists here then I really have no idea what you’re doing thinking about tournaments.
You brought 6 units total and he spammed out 11 of the 2 most point efficient units in his codex if not in the game as a whole. This game was over at army construction. Games like that are painful and really don’t accomplish anything other than highlighting what’s wrong with 40k right now.
Well you guys need to keep in mind that some people want to play vs the hard lists for practice. If you read the description Nick (GK) wanted to stress test his army vs mine to increase his skill level. I even wanted to take the misshap back but he wanted to power through it. As mentioned this was a $500 tourney practice game. The tourney was designed to prep ppl for high end events.
What I would take away is wow that is what that army does. What can i do to make my list better vs it? I also play CSM, sisters, DW and imperial knights. I know the pain and have devised ways to beat Eldar but it is very tough still.
There are videos on our youtube channel with soft on soft lists. Also lists with my 45 warp spiders that are horrendous.
Chris
Exactly! Chris has a lot more experience than I do, but I benefit from that experience and by playing games against hard lists. We enjoy tournaments, so we get together every couple of weeks/months to play a day of hard gaming and we all enjoy it.
When people come to my place to game no one is shocked or surprised by the lists, it’s encouraged!
I’ve done poorly at tournaments with my GK, but most of that is bad play in my opinion. I’ve never felt like there was never a chance. Some battles may be more uphill than others, but that’s life!
– Nick (GK)
In this particular matchup, there was never a chance.
The Eldar are was alright, not the best army and sub-optimal in terms of competitive play. The GK player just had some bad luck. The Eldar army needs a few things like some flyers and some dark reapers. Mass warp spiders isent all that good
Just alright? Not the best army and sub-optimal? You’ve got to be kidding me?
Pointless batrep. the newer 7th edition books are a universe apart from the early 7th and late 6th books.
Nice production. Digging it. Keep it up guys. Where are you located 1plusarmour? A 500$ tournament sounds like bunches of fun
We’re in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
To be fair, the GK list is actually not bad for a pure GK list. However, the power creep between the GK dex and the Eldar dex is just staggering. Even an unoptimized Eldar list would give the best pure GK army a run for its money.
You might be understating things when you say run for it’s money. One may very well be able to make a list from the Eldar book that is completely randomized as far as units taken and still win against GK on a fairly consistent basis.
