    1. I’ve just started playing a war concoction lol and was wondering how long it took you to learn all the special rules n things that go with playing this army?

  1. May i suggest a different take on the 2 Stormsurges list, would be fun to see you guys play it.

    FSE CAD

    HQ
Commander Coldstar [Drone Controller, Target Lock]

    Troops
2x Crisis [Bonding Knife Ritual, Missile Pod, Plasma Rifle]
12x Kroot [Kroot Hound, Sniper Rounds]

    Lord of War
2x KV128 Stormsurge [Early Warning Override, Pulse Driver Cannon, Twin-linked Burst Cannon]

    Fortification
Void Shield Generator [3x Projected Void Shields]

    Formation Ghostkeel Wing
3x XV95 Ghostkeel [Cyclic Ion Raker, Early Warning Override, Twin-linked Fusion Blaster]

    Formation Drone-net VX1-0
    4×4 Marker Drone

    Synergy breakdown:

    [Coldstar]
Combine with a Marker drone unit, you now have a reliable, jinking, FMC Marker lighting unit with good range, which can threaten flyers if needed. Not as bad as people claim and since FSE can’t take iridium the Coldstar offers (in my view) similar protection with added benefits.

    [Drone Network]
Marker lightning, Intercepting, Jinking, Bubblewrapping ablative wounds etc… nuff said.

    [Ghostkeel Wing]
Besides tough units and formation bonuses and intercepting ion/fusion these units gives any other unit within 12″ stealth. This can give you army wide stealth with smart model placement. I usually cover Commander, Marker Drones and Surges primarily and combined with jink it keeps stuff alive.

    [Void Shields]
Obvious army wide (Grav) protection, keep a toe in with units for as long as you see fit then move out with stealthed units if needed.
You can ofcourse exchange the void shields for a shield generator for each Surge depending on playstyle.

I’ve have good fun and success with this list.

  2. I’ve beat war convocation, but I’ve never alpha struck it off the table like the unfilmed 1st game.

The old Tau could occasionally kill 1000-1250 points of an 1850 Tyranid list on turn 1. The new Tau are so much better. There are going to be lots of feel badsies after Tau beatdowns to come.
