Join us for a Special Live Game of 40k Saturday, October 10th, 1pm PST!

UPDATE: We’re trying to get audio back online, here. Stay tuned! Very sorry for the delay. Hey everyone, be sure to join us for a special live game of 40k, tomorrow, October 10th at 1:00pm PST! We will be auditioning some shout casters (announcers) for the Las Vegas Open and we’d love your feedback!

Join us on our Twitch channel, here!

I will be playing fellow Team Zero Comp member, James, in a 1,500pt game. The purpose of the game will be twofold:

  1. We will be determining how well the guest shout casters convey the action of a game of 40k.
  2. We will be figuring out how to best shout cast a live game of 40k.

So the game itself will be entertaining for sure, but we’d like to focus on working out the best way to go about it. If anyone is available to jump in and watch and provide feedback, it would be much appreciated! The end goal in all of this of course, is to eventually build this into a way to broadcast live games of 40k at narrative events and at tournaments to make it fun to watch.

Thanks!

  1. I have to say the shoutcasting was great… was really entertained so much so i was up until 2am… although it sucked that there were audio issues (shit happens) the cast itself was great fun and lighthearted and I also loved the “midgame interview”…

One thing I did miss a little though was perhaps a little more “play by play” a little more commentary regarding what was going on and perhaps a little more “what if” scenarios, tactics etc. Though the audio issues and the attempts to fix them probably took a bit of focus away from the game…

I truly hope you guys do this again before AND after LVO….

Would give the cast 8.5/10 keep up the good work

    1. Thanks for the great feedback! Yeah, the stupid technical issues were driving me nuts, but that is (obviously) not my area of expertise. We will continue to work on the format, I think it is the way forward for sure.

  2. Hey guys, it was an interesting webcast. While entertaining to me I did have a challenge telling what decisions were being made. The audio was very poor and contributed to the challenge. My 13 year old son said that he couldn’t tell what was going on with the game. More play by play and more strategy discussions by the announcers would be better then more jokes. Think Golf! Keep it going, overall headed in the right direction.

  3. Hey all, I was one of the Shoutcasters and let me just say it was a lot of fun. It was a learning experience for all of us. On our side, we’ve already discussed procedures to keep the game play clearer. We agree that jokes (fluff) without enough crunch is a disservice to our watchers. We are actively planning a new and improved format and plan on doing a few skype casts before the LVO to improve our skills. Thank you all for the outstanding CC.
