Rumors: The Rumor Section is gathered from the web and is not in any way information we receive from  any manufacturer nor is it necessarily accurate. This section of the podcast is intended for entertainment purposes only.

  • Electro Priests multi kit on the way?! Yeah! Supposedly it makes both a melee version with a glaive, and a shooting version.
    • Rumored to have a 5++
    • Can get a 3++ if they wipe out a unit in melee
    • Shooting version can engage in melee or fire their electro weapons 12″
    • Units of up to 20!
  • Rumors indicate the Cult Mechanicus will be a Skitarii sized release.
    • The Second combo kit for the new Mechanicus will feature tracked conveyor infantry models who resemble cybernetic terminators cut at the waist and attached to set of small triangle treads.
    • One unit type will be heavily armored, and decked out for close quarters engagements.
    • The second is less armored, and features two types of cannon; a plasma cannon varainat, and a larger calibre weapon.
    • They are on 50mm bases.
    • Tech Priest Dominus to be the HQ, can heal a HP or a Wound. 40mm base
    • Heavy Support slot
You get 2 giant robots and one Datasmith as a squad. The robots stand twice the ht of a space marine and are MCs. If I remember correctly you can add additional robots, it was 2 or 3. The Datasmith is a character that controls them.
  • Rumors of a new Knight Multi-kit on the way: Castellan pattern Knights: the Warden and the Crusader. In the fluff, these are heavier Knights, with more armor and weapons than the Lancer and Palladin versions.
    • Crusader is armed with: Quake Cannon, TL Las-cannons
    • Warden is armed with: Volcano Cannon, Multi-barreled Autocannon
    • Both models have an optional top carapace missile launcher weapon mount, with multishot S8, AP3 anti-flyer capability
    • Both models are protected by a single energy field based heavily on the rules for the Stronghold Assault book’s Void Shield Generator.
    • Armor Values: Front:14 Side:13 Rear:13
    • Hull Points: 8
    • Both models clock in well above the cost of the Knight Paladin/Errant
  • More rumors indicating a bit surprise release after Assassins, maybe the plastic 30k box we’ve been hearing about?
    • Also, vague rumors of a new Titan kit, maybe the Warlord we’ve been hearing about.
  • Fantasy 9th ed said to be possibly coming in July.
    • Said to be Chaos vs. Humans, with a very small rule-book which may indicate that it is a skirmish game, or perhaps even something less complex than that.

Rant Session

  • When and if the ITC changes any rules, how we approach it philosophically and practically.

Tactics Corner

  • Skitarii in action.

  1. This was all great! thanks!

Couple questions for the FLG team:
    1) DA – How can I make my DA with DW terminators remotely competitive?
    – I use AI Mortis dreads and think I will add a Scorpius to cover some of the weaknesses.
    – What else is necessary? Knights? Sicarian?

    2) Fortifications – besides the Aegis line, I rarely see other forts. used. Which forts. are worth a look?
    – I am considering a Power Field Generator to protect my Scarab Farm Crons from alpha strike. Good Idea/Bad Idea?

    1. Deathwing really, really struggle, they are overpriced. But, they are able to hit fairly hard when they come in. I would run a single unit of them to drop into the backfield and light something up.

A single Knight helps a list a ton, as does a Sicaran.

I don’t use forts anymore as in our meta we have too many high powered shooting units that will destroy them in a single volley. VSG though, is still quite good.

    2. Deathwing really needs to play an aggressive game to compete- you’re leaning a lot on hitting the enemy hard enough on the drop that they can’t fight back too hard. Maximizing the effects of Deathwing Assault is pretty key. Unfortunately, due to lack of options, there’s not a ton of options you can do anything with to support it.

Combining with Biker Marines or Knights seems like a viable plan, as both can do a good job of backing you up. The Sicaran and Mortis Dread are both good units, but they don’t really solve your fundamental problem, i.e. that you don’t have a lot of bodies or guns. A solo Inquisitor to ensure more accurate Deep Strikes (in Terminator Armor, natch) is a solid addition as well.

The Aegis Line, Bastion, Imperial Bunker, Firestorm Redoubt, and Void Shield Generator are the main “good” ones; Vengeance Batteries, Skyshield Pads, and the Fortress of Redemption can be considered marginal-but-useful. Like other units, however, not every list necessarily wants a fortification- it depends a lot on the army.

For Scarab Farm, I would much favor an Aegis Line over a Void Shield because Scarabs are small enough that they can hide behind the Aegis without being seen.

  2. Ferrus manus was beheaded by fulgrim, corax fights throughout the heresy in a series of hit and run campaigns against the traitors but finally after the heresy he leaves the imperium and heads into the warp. this is speculated because of what happend with his raptors during the heresy when he tried to reproduce his legions rapidly the alpha legion sabotaged it so they mutgated into hideous monstrosities.

  3. Knights are getting a new codex in just over a year validating their new models for use in the ITC, models like the R’varna and Y’varah have bee on the Forgeworld website for years and there is no word on them getting into an IA any time soon but they are not allowed to be used in the ITC because they are “experimental” (even though they have had less changes in the same period of time than some of the main codex, such as Eldar).

My question is why is experimental band from the ITC and why cant experimental models be based on a case by case basis? This would allow people to use the models they purchased with rules readily available to all. It would allow the new space marine Deimos Vindicator Laser Destroyer, Xiphon Interceptor, The various knights and a host of other models.

It just seems like experimental has been used as a blanket term to ban anything that’s not published in a book even if up to date rules are available to all in the internet age (legally and for free!)

Is there a chance this could be reviewed by the ITC?

  4. The audio quality of the podcast has really gone down since you started the video. Also, please edit that out when someone bangs into the mic. The podcast was so quiet I bad it turned up in my car and when someone hit the mic I almost shit my pants and crashed.
