Hobby update!
We been getting our hobby on! Frankie and I are trying to bust out some Skitarii as fast as possible. They are brilliant models! So much awesome detail on them, we really like them a lot. We decided to go with a silver/metallic paint scheme as a base, with an Orange contrast color. It should look pretty sharp and it will really pop. Interesting to note, the Skitarii walker is not on a flyer base, but a new sized oval base we’ve never seen before. It looks like they have a lot of unique sized bases as the Sniper model is on a mini oval, and the Dune Crawler looks to be on a giant circle base.
I (Reecius) have been trying to get my Junkticrons updated to take advantage of some of the really awesome new units in the Necron Codex. I built the Triarch Stalker on Friday and will bust out the Ghost Ark, next. Necron models are sexy, but damn, they take ages to put together, lol!
Frankie got his Brass Scorpion assembled and primed! He’s going to paint it up in his Nurgle Colors (and yes, he knows it is a Khorne unit!). Such an amazing model, the Brass Scorpion is truly a centerpiece to turn heads!
The base for the Dragoon is the same one that came with the Carnifex in the Deathstorm box

I like that 105*70 mm base that the carnifex uses. Small enough not to drawf the model but giving plenty of space for base modeling. I wonder if they will include the new 130 mm round base in the defiler and soulgrinder kits. All walkers need bases.
I actually don’t like it when the big walkers have a base as it can make it really hard to put the model into terrain. However, it helps a ton for assaults and such.

Man, I love the Stalker model, but it’s so sad when they just get focused and blown up in the first game turn…
When people hear “This model buffs the crap out of all things around it” they make sure it dies super fast haha.

Looks like they’re coming along well. Nice to see a hobby post from you guys, as I don’t think I’ve seen one besides the stuff from the paint studio.
Yeah, we don’t have much time to hobby, actually, but we have to get it done for the studio so we make the time!
The smaller oval bases look like a rounded equivalent to the skaven jezebel sniper guys.
