Battle Brothers Video Battle Report – 1850 Black Templar vs. Tyranids

nid.01

What’s up everyone, Chaplain Sam back with another Battle Brothers battle report. This time Castellan Chris brought his Black Templar army with an Imperial Knight against my “swarmy” Tyranids list. We played BAO scenario 1 (Emperor’s Will primary, Modified Maelstorm secondary). Check it out! And as always, visit the Tactics Corner for more great video bat reps!

Pre-game Thoughts: I still need to pick up so more models before I put together the competitive Nidz list I am aiming for, so I’ve just been having fun with a “swarmy” list lately. Having said that, this list has actually exceeded my expectations in the last few games! I’ve had troubles with Imperial Knights while playing bugs in the past, so I’m planning to focus everything on the Knight until it drops. Centurions or stormtalons are next on the target priority list. Hopefully the swarm of 99 bugs will give me pretty good board control and coverage. I’ve won the last five games against Chris so I’m hoping to keep the streak alive!

Post Game Thoughts: The streak is over! Chris beat me pretty good, unfortunately. We both had a blast though! The final tally was 6 – 1. I made a few mistakes throughout the game, some of which I mentioned in the video. I should have spread out my gaunts more to make it harder for Chris to hold the maelstorm objective on my side of the board. Also, forgetting to run the gaunts cost me a maelstorm point too. Emperor’s Will can be tricky to win and it seems like ties are pretty common so I should have focused more on the modified maelstorm secondary. I should have been more effective using my swarm to deny maelstorm objective points. I also gave up the chance to mow down Chris’ razorback on turn 1 and chose to shoot the Knight instead. It cost me first blood, but I think it was more important to drop the Knight. Overall, it was a good game. One more turn may have given me a shot to win, but it wasn’t in the dice this time.

I hope y’all enjoyed.
