    1. Cant say that I’m not disappointed. After the rape job Nids got I was hopeful that an Imperial book might also for once get nerfed.

But nope…Ignore Cover and divinity access up the ass.

    1. They took away Hatred and gave him the ability to use Orders!! He’s amazing, and with a points reduction. Definitely my go to choice now for my Warlord.

  1. Great game Reece! Congrats on your win! Imagine if you had the wyvern finished for that battle? Those cultists would have died long ago…
You really should go to the doctor. you have the “initiative-is-always-stolen-from-me” syndrome! Haha

    1. Only if by sky blight you mean your phallus…

Seriously though I do want to see that batrep.

Reece mentioned AM was unbeaten in practice games but Geoff said in a recent podcast he was hitting that like John Mcenroe. Was that a pre-codex IG game being referenced?

  2. Is it possible to move a chimera, disembark, and THEN go flat out? I was under the impression that transports could not do that.

    1. Yes, it is one of the best uses of Transport tanks now. Get out, move, then flat out back in front of them. I may have said it in the wrong order in the video.

      1. Whaddya know. My Wave Serpents just got a little better. I have been playing them wrong (to my detriment, which is why I suppose no one pointed it out to me). Thanks!

      1. Balls! That would’ve been huge for me! Also looked up that rule concerning Be’lakor gaining the extra d3 warp charge points. I didn’t see any restriction as far as distance unless there’s something I’m missing…not that it came up. Also forgot it will not die for the sorcerer which he gets courtesy of Daemonheart.

  3. Not sure if you knew but from the sound of it (18 min mark) you weren’t rolling get hot for the Executioner main gun. Main gun in the new book gets hot now not just the sponsons which just is brutal.

    1. He rolled, he was just highlighting how he was only firing the main gun because he wanted to decrease his chances of getting hot

  4. The commercial in the middle of your new batreps is just awesome. Best acting ever. And was that a crab claw Yarrik? I didn’t know those existed in the wild anymore lol

      1. That Other David

Goodness gracious do I ever feel dumb for selling off my crab-claw Yarrick a year and a half ago…

  5. Considering how little CSM have going for them, especially in light of the new IG that no longer have the weakness of poor morale, and can twin-link absolutely everything in their massive arsenal, I would appreciate if you would stop trying to nerf the Heldrake, which along with Be’lakor is about all the army has going for it.

    1. You are right that the Chaos book is pretty crummy, but, the Drake is so ridiculous. I would much rather see the rest of the book get better and it more reasonable than have things stay the way they are, now, you wouldn’t you? I would trade a weaker drake for a better book any day.

      1. Sure, but that’s years down the road, and there’s no guarantee GW even understands what’s wrong with the army.

        1. Troof.

I just like to vent my anger at the book every once in a while for being such a pile of shit.

We may have to fix it as a community to make it more fun and playable.

  6. Slaede, im pretty positive is he was only commenting on that fact that it makes no sense for the drake to be able to vector strike with the very tip of his wing, which is very reasonable. So chill bro. Also if you remember Reeicus was a little bit ago started the conversation to get CSM ATSKNF so relax because a lot of other codexes struggle too, look at BA Orks and more

    1. I’m quite relaxed, but lots of tweaks to the rules are being proposed and I want to advocate for poor old Chaos Space Marines.

I don’t care about ATSKNF. It does nothing for the army since it still can’t get close enough to assault with the rank and file footsloggers without getting shot to pieces by just about every army out there. The army needs credible assault transports and no more Champion of Chaos garbage.

Until the army is drastically recosted to where a Forgefiend with three plasma cannons doesn’t cost 15 points more than a Plasmacutioner with five, better range and AV14, the number of tools in the book viable for competitive play continues to dwindle, and the Drake is one of the few saving graces.

  7. Not sure if you all know, but when you explained the vector lock you all know that he can still make his 90* turn right? He just is forced to move flat out (36″).

I think the CSM players last turn you said he had to fly off the board but there was plenty of room to turn and roast that last unit in the middle (the ones the Oblits charged instead). Just an fyi as I played vector lock incorrectly until Gonyo helped me out last NOVA Open 😛

Also glad to see CSM hang a little bit this time, much better and more interesting game. AM seem obscene in some areas however. My Cultists will be glad to hear that their equipment requisitions have finally arrived!

      1. It was already brought up in previous responses, my apologies. I do not read then all normally and missed it, did not mean to harp on the same thing 😛

  8. 200pt showdown! haha

Thanks for the batrep guys. Was great!

I managed to pull out a win with my Orks and ghaz against my friend’s army being led by Yarrick. Managed to talk him into accepting ghaz’s challenge, for hard narrative forging purposes and poor old yarrick just died and alas didnt get up.

  9. I left a similar comment on the other battle report that included Belakor: I suggest taking a long look at what those 350 points can get you. I made the switch in my own list before the Crimson Slaughter supplement came out. With access to Divination (and the relatively useless, but free ‘everyone has Fear’ perk), I think Belakor’s 350 points put him back into the ‘fun but not points efficient’ category.

    1. You could not be more wrong, my good man! He does, however work better when not rushing a gunline by his lonesome.

      1. I play a Noise Marine list (2 full units of noise marines), so I am constrained with respect to my HQ options. Part of my opinion regarding Belakor’s utility comes from this self-imposed limitation; it’s not feasible to run him and a decently kitted chaos lord.

So, I’ve played with Belakor, and without. Provided he stays out of sight and/or makes his grounding tests, he can own face vs. Wraith Knights in close combat (I playtest against my Eldar) and occasionally get off a funny Puppet Master. Otherwise, he doesn’t do enough. Invisibility is worth much less now than it even was at the beginning of 6th. There are too many weapons with Ignores Cover in their profile (Blast Masters!), or with ways to get access to it.

You must have played without Belakor before the dataslate came out, what was your list like then? And now that the Crimson Slaughter supplement has been out for a bit, how has that affected your list-building, if at all?

  10. Great batrep guys. My only concern is the way Be’lakor is being played in the last two battles. Both players were way too aggressive and pushing him forward for easy kills. Patience is a virtue when using him. I love that he was able to PM a couple times at least.

    1. Yeah, my gambit with him didn’t really pay off. After a round of shooting that despite his 2+ cover left him with only one wound remaining I decided he wasn’t likely to last another turn anyways so I went for the gusto. In this case it was a failed charge that, had it been successful would have gotten me a big guns point and eliminated the plasma-cutioner that was just murdering me. Next time I will be more patient but at the time it seemed like the right move
