Hey Everyone White925 here going to talk a little bit about my Feast of B lades invitational list. So lets start off by saying I am stoked to head out to Denver and play some games of 40K Yay! Feast of blades is looking like a great event and I have been really enjoying there Facebook Updates.
The Invitational is 1850 pts, no comp, book missions, Cheese accepted tournament. I am going in with a very strong Deamon list and would like to see what you guys think of it. Anyways lets get into the list:
Deamons(main)/ Chaos Space marines(Allie)
HQ
-Fateweaver
-Hearld of Slaanesh, steed, exalted gift, lesser locus of grace X2
-Hearld of Khorne, Juggernaught, Lesser gift
-Abbadon (Allie)
Fast Attack
-Seekers of Slaanesh X14
-Seekers of Slaanesh X15
-Khorne Hounds X15
-Helldrake, Baleflamer (Allie)
Troops
-Plaguebearers X10
-Pink Horrors X10
-Cultists X10 (Allie)
And thats the ball game folks! So Lets break this bad boy down. We have one of the worst psychers in the game: Space Chicken
Which is actually the backbone of any deamon list with the re-roll for the warpstorm table to the re-roll every player turn he is hands down one of the best force multipliers in the game. Plus hes shoots the pants off most units. In my play tests he has won me two of my 5 games alone by flying around nuking the crap out of troops and contesting objectives.
My hearld lackeys dont get a lot of credit but make my seekers and khorne dogs a million times better giving them move through cover and an ap 2 weapon in combat. They also carry the Grimor and portal glyph which make Deamons into a top tier army alone haha.
The man of the hour however holds down mid field and beats the crap out of most units/ characters in Close Combat. He may not be able to win a black Crusade with his own army but with a little help from the gods maybe he can do it this time! He adds a huge punch and provides a really scary unit in which deamons are missing in my opinion. The man the myth the legend: Abaddizle
Now the main part of my list made to counter the meta. I take a bunch of movement 12″, fleeting, butt whooping assault units. I believe assault has gotten a lot better and really important in sixth edition since high shooting armies are so popular. So the khorne dogs are used as a screening unit made to draw the fire from my seeker units which pack the real punch since they have rending. If I get first turn my units will fly up the table and force 4 very tough units down the opponents throat. If I do not get first turn I need to play a little defensive and hope that my units dont get shot off the table haha.
The troops suck in the list but will hopefully survive and hold some objectives. I should also be able to create some more troops with the portal glyph as long as it doesnt die. Luckily with book missions straight up I dont think the troops are as important as fast attack are scoring in the highest objective mission and the rest I should only need to hold one objective and blast the opponent off the others.
Well that is the list and will hopefully be able to hold its own against some of the best players in the country. I look forward to hearing what you guys think.
I will continue to train my dice to roll sixes and let y’all know how I did in the end.
Looks loads of fun and most of the stuff you’d struggle with is unlikely to show its face.
Post Eldar Tau don’t have as many guns which helps and I haven’t seen DE Venom spam in a while. Horde Orks could give you problems as could Swarm Nids but again not as many out there these days.
Marines will suffer against this list (grav sucks against demons) and Eldar will struggle to kill enough quickly enough and you’ll cover so much board space they can’t run off easy (other than in H&A when they may get an extra turn to shoot) IG will fold after you hit. Necrons could be interesting if you get caught within 24″ but not in charge range but Fatey can knock out fliers as can the Drake.
Solid!
Haha thanks I appreciate the input and I think I will be okay against hordes due to the fact that seekers have a ton of attacks at WS 5.
Yup, if I were you I’d just cross my fingers to not come up against 9 Venoms.
Yeah that would be bad.
This list needs something….. I got it!!! More cow bell!!
Makes me cry a little to see what the game has become.
Why is that dawg.
Yeah, dawg, why you got to be like that?
Damn dawg, like that dawg is dawgin’ on the game yo.
What do you mean by that? And I ask that question seriously, not in jest. I know Frankie plays all out power game lists, but he is bringing it to the Feast of Blades invitational tournament, the object is to bring your most powerful list and play it at your best. What about his list bothers you or seems to indicate the state of the game in general?
Not quite sure what you need Abbadon for in that list. I would be more inclined to pop in Karn and get a full mob of cultists.
Kharn is easily killed, Abby on the other hand, is not. He can kill almost any other model in the game in single combat. He’s a beast and not easily dealt with.
I use Abbadon as a beat stick to hold mid field and do clean up late game as he is a power house and can easily kill most things in close combat. Hes also really slow which means he usually isnt a target priority for people. He also breaks my khorne hounds and seekers out of tarpit characters or dreadnaughts if need be.
Won’t there still be some flying French bakery lists oh there? You have no anti-flyer. Against FMC circus daemons you won’t be able to ground them as the slowly chew you up.
Good point. He does have the Turkey to take out other flyers, but not much ability to ground FMC’s, although he does have the numbers and the board control to dictate where they go.
Luckily with how many calvary and beast models I have I can control the board and make sure the deamons land where I want them to or flyers. Against a lot of flyer lists I would just throw gimore up on Fateweaver and let him kill a flyer a turn by shooting them in the REAR!

Yet, another power gamers cheesed**k list. No originality cuz everyone else will be bringing the same thing. If you are going to be public and post your lists to your blogger fans, try something new and challenge yourself. Take a predominately ‘mid-tier’ army like the Space Marines that you’ve been writing so much about and see if you can win one for the Emprah!
Well, I don’t know what you expected, this is Frankie’s list. Always check the author of the article, White925 is Frankie’s handle. He is the Captain of the Cheesedick Express. I, Reece, am the Space marine player.
Yes, my apologies. When I read ‘Fateweaver’, a blinding flash of light overtakes my consciousness and I just respond with the a blinding-rage diatribe. I’m working on it. I have no constructive criticism so I’ll leave now…good luck White925…
Hahaha, no worries, I hate Space Chicken too! I think he is even more annoying this edition than last if that’s possible!
Yea, my experience with Fateweaver has not been kind. He’s usually bunched up with 3-4 Daemon Princes. I am not a tournament player, but my LGS has a large contingent of them who are always looking for a ‘Homecoming’ game to practice there lists. I’ll play them occasionally to see what all the fuss is about. As a casual gamer, 9/10 I’m looking for a narrative or more balanced list to go against. Having the Space Chicken and his buddies bend me over and make me spell ‘R-U-N’ is usually not the narrative I was looking for. 😉
Totally fair. Tournament lists are not fun to play with or against if the other player is not them self playing a tournament list. I always ask someone what they want play before the game as it is neither a challenge nor fun to bring out my hardest tournament list against someone’s casual list.
Find someone who runs/ran venom spam and his monstrous creature bomb will have a bad day. There’s nothing like over 100 poison shots (not even counting the dudes inside) to spoil a monstrous creatures day. Saw Venom spam table a Fatey monstrous bomb in just over 2 turns a few weeks back. With all the Wraithknights and bikes about rit now I see it making a bit of a comeback as a tournament spoiler list.
I actually think the list is more original than most deamon lists. Although Fateweaver is in the list but I mean honestly if you dont take Fateweaver you are just handicapping yourself with how bad the warpstorm table can be for you. Also most deamon players take a bunch of monstrous creatures and I only have one which shouldnt even count cause he is not very monstrous lol. Or the other deamon list you are seeing is screamer star with a 2+ re-roll invulnerable save super lame. But my list has a bunch of fast close combat units and allies up with chaos space marines and takes abbaddon lol so I actually think mine is a little more original. But I totally agree with you that this is a competitive list and needs to be since I am going to a no soft score hardcore event with countless tau and eldar lists haha so I need all the help I can get.
I’m not feeling Abaddon in this list. He is slow and that ain’t going to cut it against Tau or Eldar. This is somewhat of a threat overload list. I feel there are other units that will complement your list better.
Consider swapping out Abaddon for a CSM Sorcerer (you want Invisibility) and perhaps a Slaanesh soulgrinder. Either that or swap him out completely for a Black Mace Daemon Prince, though you’d probably have to drop somewhere else to pick him up.
I second Jy2’d recommendation on a sorcerer with a bike and that nova spell. Your entire army is super fast and Abbadon is just far too slow. Other than that I like the list and hope you do well with it.
Who’s this Allie Frankie keeps talking about? Did he get a girlfriend or something
Hahahahaha, I was waiting for someone to comment about that!
Haha darn you picked up on it!
I agree, a Black Legion Sorcerer with Nova of Doom or Black Mace Prince makes more sense than Abaddon. So too would a Herald of Tzeentch with some Screamers for some shooting an additional MTO (plus great anti vehicle and more Prescience)
Also, this is a list where a Hades Drake makes more sense imo. I think you’ve got anti infantry covered. Hades Drake plus Prescience (from Fatey) plus Daemonforge is great anti flier, it’s also great anti Wave Serpent. That 360 firing arc with a 36 inch range is actually really good.
Actually, this is not a “power gamer” list. It is a well designed list. The only unit he has mutlples of are seekers.
So he could remove 1 unit of seekers, and than there is absolutely nothing any “fluffy” gamer could say about it. But I don’t even think that is needed. It is a well built list he designed himself.
Quit whining. Warhammer 40,000 is a wargame, not barbies.
Hey Tom, welcome to Frontline Gaming! Thanks for sharing your opinion. Just one thing, and I apologize if I am assuming your tone and intent (hard to tell in writing) but while we encourage people to debate and share opinions with one another, we require they do so respectfully. It felt like maybe a bit of a flame in your post? We discourage that as it shuts down effective communication.
Please feel free to hang out and join the conversation, all we ask is that everyone here shows one another respect.
As for the list, it’s funny you mention dropping a unit of Seekers as Frnakie and I have been debating if he should drop 1 unit of Seekers and add Fiends, as they bring so much awesomesauce to the list.
We are on the same page. No comp, use the rules in the book, and no whining over a wargame of plastic toy soldiers with the goal to blow each other up.
This list makes my Blood angels cry a little. I really wish there was a way to make them a beat stick assault army too, but they just aren’t a super viable tournament option right now.
Yeah, poor Blood Angels. I think you can still win with them going full Mech but Riptides and Wraithknights will still be your nemesis. They can kill you in one shot, you cannot kill them in one. It stinks.
I have been test playing my friends list lately and i play chaos daemons and he plays taudar. He tables me after 2 turns, is there any things I can do to get a better chance at tying against him?
You need to take the ultra durable units like Dogs with the Grimoire, Fatey with the Grim, etc. and bum rush them. If anything makes it into combat, you will win.
