In this Warhammer 40K video battle report, recent Anime Expo GT winner Janthkin comes up to Frontline Gaming with his Daemons and Chaos list at viewer request to challenge Reecius’ Eldar! Will the Eldar finally meet their match and see their hot streak come to an end?
tactically im wondering why you went second. With night vision on your ravager and ignore cover on the serpent you could have put an early hit on the seekers and still kept your infantry and walkers safe even with night fight.
I wanted to have the last shot at taking objectives.
There are going to be haters on the Daemon list, saying it isn’t that good, this unit is under powered etc etc etc. Let me just say 2 things.
1. That list is not bad, at all.
2. Kevin is a great player.
I played both this list and Janthkin (Kevin) Round 4, and for the win, at AnimeExpo just a few weeks ago. He is a great player and this list is far more resilient than you would believe. He uses his units in ways that can be surprising to players who don’t play any Tzeentch and Slaanesh heavy builds in their Meta.
Great batrep!
I think it’s a great list!
This might just be me failing to see something but I can’t shake the feeling that the Eldar are more static than they should be. I’ve seen you in a “nowhere to run” situation many times in the batreps. The wave serpent could have swooshed over the table, and in the next turn deployed some cultist killing cargo and either targeted the cultist or the hell turkey (rear armor?).
The war walkers should have been by themselves. They seem to work well that way. The hellions staying at the front and the knight in the middle thundering towards the big enemy MC guns blazing and ready to charge in for some nice S10 CC attacks (does he even need smash for anything?:)).
Or am I missing something here? It all seems so clear in my head but things tend to end up being so very different on the table:)
TL;DR Move everything around more and don’t bunch up. 🙂
I have been using the grisly trophies for my farseer.
they helped me pass a ton of failed ld and psyc tests. I am totally stoked for the Vegas open! I will be drunk as $#!T!!!
I have never been too Vegas or to the east.
Myself and a few friends are coming from Vancouver BC Canada.
Great report. it is nice to see daemons get some love after all the initial hate people were giving the army. But then again that is the internet for you.
I got luck a went 4-0-1 and took home best gen at the Wet Coast GT in Vancouver with my Dark eldar/Eldar. and passing those failed psyc tests helped tons. and prescience on my giant beast pack is amazing.
You have me considering taking the shard in anaris on my seer as I would like the beast pack fearless. but LD 9-10 with the grisly reroll has worked well so far. But the shard would be 40 points well spent.
Yeah, I’m officially a pro as my Grizzly Trophy tip is a pro tip!
Now I’m sure pros get paid so I’m gonna have to work out how that’s gonna happen.
