That mechdar list would drive my local store bananas! Good to see your take all comers list prevail.
He did make it a lot easier for me by flying right at me! Bonzai!
Good report. Top dog on the block always has upstart kids coming around trying to get a win and make a name for themselves :).
Loving the combat mat.
Thanks =)
And yeah, we are looking into making some mats like that.
Ha mike always pulls that balls to the wall crap, he could have owned Reece just with shooting range alone. Mike has been playing that list for years with what looks like a few updates, he’s not used to the serpent shields yet lmao!! Great batrep, nice lookin armies.
Yeah, had he stayed back it would have probably been the smarter tactical play. Oh well, he was laughing the whole time so its all good.
Hey Reece, awesome report. I love your list and am working on a unit of hellions myself. I also have several wave serpents though and want to incorporate them. Do you think the game would have been much different if your opponent had stayed back and shot you from far away? I think your reserves would still have been devastating I’m just wondering if he could have played more defensively or if you guys witches armies and played a game how you would use his list. Thanks 🙂 and keep up the good work.
It would have been a diffrent game, yes.
I can’t understand why Mike was going so offensive with the movement. He had 60″ range on all the boats. Reecius has max 36″ on his guns(plus movement). Mechdar should outrange/gun him in this matchup. (espacially in this deployment). Ok, it was night fight so he could only fire at targets at 36″, but even then he should stayed back for a turn or stopped a max range and shot what he could.
Giving away 3 boats for free, first turn, made this battle report dull from turn 1.
Anyway, love your battle reports. But I must say you meta seems alot diffrent from the one I am used to. And to the oppenents you are facing, I can’t understand why the get so up and close, Eldar are brutal at close to medium range.
Sorry if there are any spelling or grammar errors, english is not my native language.
Kind regards
Ceasar
Stupid auto correct “switched” not witches.
Yeah, had he stayed back and been patient it would have gone a lot better for him, but oh well. He wanted to attack me, balls out, just want’s the best choice.
This game was a laugh, kudos to Mike for the ballsy play even though it didnt make 100% sense haha.
I played a very similar game a while back, same deployment, similar lists (no allies for my footdar though), but with 5 objectives, and my opponent did the hang-back-and-shoot thing. It was a brutal game for my plastic men, and a lot of stuff dropped.
But even after taking 4 turns of punishment, ice cold rolling, two horrible morale checks in a row, and several tactical blunders, my wraithknight still had two chances to win the game which he narrowly missed (a 6″ charge through DT and then a single 5+ save the next turn), showing that Footdar somehow keep pulling tricks out of the bag until the very end.
Thanks for all the sweet batreps Reece, there have been some hair raising moments and some epic close combats! Look forward to seeing these bad boys all painted up in a tournament report one day
Glad you are enjoying them, too! And yes, definitely been some close call so far! But it’s been good fun the whole way through.
???? How did Mike lose that?
He charged with a mech army! Balls out!
we’ll dave I should have parked like 4 more inches back when i turbo’d up table turn 1, my thinking was that I could literally tank shock and shoot off everything he had on table turn 2. I didnt want him to be all powered up on his table edge but also didnt want to get surrounded with all the deepstike outflank of his army, I was also hoping that Reece would roll a poor charge for the D star, he got off a modest charge but I didn’t see more than 2 transports going down(dice=win+ -loss hmmm) to that 1st charge was thinking more like 2 hull points on 1 and 1 or two on another one, but reece’s turn two dice where auto rolling 6 like no bodies business, and no one can talk smack because baron literally soaked up more than 30 wounds on turn two as i gutted the hellions. If reece had had similar luck with his buffed baron as his prior game it would have been a table wipe the other way around as I would have turned right around and used my range to deal with his deep striking alpha strike , reece had some bum dice on turn 4 and 5, was bitching the whole way that his dice just took a huge shit all over him, but just that 1st combat against my serpents going soooo ridiculously well for him, and I mean the statistics where ther but just didnt expect that many 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 6 66 6 6 it was crazy…..
deffinatly not my best showing but didnt want to get tied up in my own backfield when i knew i had the mobility to just zoom all over the table, next time reece next time, GOOD GAME really good game,
Also all please note that this is still one of my 1st 25 games of 6th, and there are some mechanics of this game that make me stongly believe that matt ward and company are really really high on profits and warp dust, also disappoints me, when fliers have become the hardest thing in the galaxy to kill and grav tanks are just the same as a rhino in cc to kill even if moving at 400kph, retarded, reeces baron jetseer star is a really good tank unit, bring your flamers/ heavy flamers.
Great report!! As I say when fielding Orks: Orks might get beaten in a game but never lose since they just like to fight it’s a win-win no matter what. 😀
T.
Oh that wacky Entropo! I should go back to GOB again soon and watch his Eldar decimate me again. 🙂
don’t worry Adam, that is one measly list that I put together in haste and just for fun to combine my old list of 8 serpents with another list that used the three beastly fire prisms, there are many more idea’s, for golden throne if i go there will be 50 warp spiders on the table of deep-striking with 100 guardians or 80 dire avengers backing them……..
Wow….you actually have 50 warp spiders? Who actually got 50 spiders for 5th Ed.? Were they this good even back then?
They were OK. Never, ever this good.
I’m just slightly eldar aspect crazed over 450 eldar models, 120+ gaurdians, 90 dire avengers 40 howling banshees, 50 dark reapers, you get the picture
