We at Frontline Gaming have been asked to run a 40K event at Anime Expo and we wanted to hear from the community if you guys were into the idea.
The event will be July 4th weekend, specifically the 6th and 7th. We would run it with the BAO format, so 1750pts, Swiss pairings, competitive with Forge World allowed.
The event itself would be awesome, at the Los Angels Convention Center with thousands and thousands of other attendees, many of whom would be dressed up in crazy costumes. Plus there would be tons of anime artists, writers, etc. there and load of other attractions to check out.
What do you guys think about the venue, date (4th of July is a tough one for some folks), etc.? Basically, would this be an even you all would like to go to?

Please do run it. It is during a time when I should be able to go, and with it close to home it means leaving Nat with the kids isn’t as big of a deal!
Are you limiting the size? Do tickets for the event include tickets for the con?
Haven’t hammered out logistics yet, just gauging interest at this point.
I’d be down if you could get some affordable rates with group packages.
I will see what we can do on that front, we always try to get you guys the best deals possible.
4th is a tough weekend to swing for those of us with families. Would try to make it though

I think your system with the primary and secondary missions being different points values and the allowance of ForgeWorld is the best system right now . I liked it much better then the shared primary mission at adepticon . I would be interested in attending . Please contact me if I can help with judging or whatnot.

I cant make it. Being in Canada and all. But it seems like it would be fun!
I’d say scratch this idea and continue working on the Las Vegas Open.

It’s not one or the other, it’d be both. The LVO would be in March.
Just make sure it’s after 19th of March, and I’ll be there. I want to be able to drink leagaly in your stupid country this time 😉

Sooo… one of the best things BAO does in my opinion is doubles stuff, 2v2 and such. It’s great for players new to the tournament scene and just all around fun. There should definitely be some of that going on here. And I’m local to that area so I’m in!

Not the best weekend. It’s really a normal family weekend plus all the prices for hotels are much higher due to the long weekend and is know for one of the busiest weeks of summer for travel. Pick any other time would be better. If you call the hotels and all everything is more expensive even has that week. Has been for years.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Unfortunately, we don’t pick the weekend. This would be a tournament in a giant Con that was happening at that time.

Awesome! At this point we’re just waiting on contract negotiations and we’re gong to green light it.
Also local to the area and would totally go! Especially if there was a 2v2 tournament
