Renegade Open

Genesis of a Grand Tournament

The Renegade Open Grand Tournament is a weekend of miniature war gaming for Warhammer 40K held Nov. 23rd & 24th 2013 at the Rockwoods Banquet Center

Over $2,500 in prizes will be given out in our inaugural year with a staggering $1,200 in cash awards. This will be the event of the year for hobby wargaming in Minnesota. Bring your team, your club or go Renegade and simply compete for your own glory. The event is limited to 100 participants – make sure you registerearly and lock in a spot!

The Renegade Open’s crew is a coalition of local hobby gamestore staff, tournament organizers, judges, table top enthusiasts and players. We are built from the community at the ground level and that is why The Renegade Open will be like nothing else you’ve participated in – it’s the culmination of over a century of collective industry experience put to task.

Check out the review at Turn 7 Wargaming.

It looks like a very professional effort and we wish them success! We are also giving out a ticket to their event as a part of winning the BAO!

The are using a format similar to the BAO, which is awesome, and we are always very flattered and proud to hear that folks like what we’ve built and use it as inspiration to build their own system.

  1. Reece et al.,

Are any Bay Area people you know going to this? I would consider flying out there with a partner or (less likely) a crew to share hotel costs. The timing is prefect, because it’s after my business season, but before holidays.

Let me know if you know.

    1. We have not thought that far out in advance just yet, honestly. I would like to go as this sounds like fun! I will look into flights to see what the expense would be. The only other thing Frontline has going on in that time frame is Comikaze, which we are not certain on the dates, just yet.

  2. Frontline Crew, Thanks big time for the plug! We are super excited to be putting the Renegade Open on.

Just to clarify, Minneapolis is in the SOUTHERN MN area, so less likely to freeze, since the average high in Nov is in the 40’s. Honest. You can look it up.

We hope you guys can make it!

    1. Sorry for the mistake! We will correct that in the next plug. And we’re happy to help promote! Good luck with the event and so long as we can go, we will!
