We are having a 2k full 6e tournament in Reno this weekend, our local monthly Hall Of Heroes:
I think 2k is the sweet spot with the 2nd FoC for most of the reasons mentioned. the naysayers at 2k cant even put something on the table that supports their expert-hate-bash.
Damn, if Frankie weren’t out of town this weekend I would love to come out to that. I haven’t played in a 2K double FOC tournament yet, but I have to watch the shop. Good luck with that, sounds like a blast!
Shoot. If I didn’t have other commitments I’d love to go to Reno for this. Heroes on Paper in Stockton is also running a full 6th 2k dual FOC event on he 15th. I’ll be attending that one. I also agree that dual FOC at 2000 is far from the problem that people want to believe. I’ve yet to see a list that takes advantage of it and is much scarier than some things that people put together in a single FOC

So I have to ask. What the hell is a BART
BART = Bay Area Rapid Transit
It’s our public transportation system. It is a subway/tram that runs all over the Bay Area.
Well when you said “Rent a car” I was like $300 for air, $300 for stuff there, and then another $300 for a car would be rough….. 20/30 bucks a day ! No problem…… Renting cars around here is expensive there is no 20/30 dollars a day rental that I knew of.
Well, I haven’t rented a car in a while, so I could be a bit off, but I don’t think it’s much more than that.
Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend renting a car for anyone who wasn’t with a family. Single guys should just ride the BART and get a lift from us.
My main deal is being able to get to food/bars fun when not playing 40k. Seems like the event is kind of remote.
It’s out of the way a bit, for sure. I think grabbing some wheels is not a bad idea, at all.
Found economy car rental for 3 days out of oakland for 80 with taxes and fees (this was via Kayak). Even though I am likely by myself I figured it was worth it to be able to get around.
Will you guys be putting out an FAQ for the tournament or should we just submit questions and answers to you and you will email us back? Will you post all of the questions and answers on a page or answer them in the podcasts?
Send in all those questions. We are compiling a FAQ, and the more data we get form you all, the better.
I would be very interested in the Las Vegas Open idea BUT I need to know when you would be hosting it? I think a lot of people would be able to gauge their financial situation a bit better if we had at least the month you would do it.
That is a very fair point, but, we do not know exactly what month yet as we do not know the dates of some other events we want to avoid. If we were to do a Kickstarter, we would certainly have all of that information in place.
