   pg.63 of the rulebook under character types use mephiston as an example as special characters/unique without Independent character rule saying they fellow the rules for characters.

   Unfortunately the Daemon Prince can’t have the Axe of Blind Fury since he doesn’t get a Mark of Khorne. The Black Mace however is crazy good in his hands since it becomes AP 2.

      I think you are correct. By RAW it is fairly clear that he does not get it, although I wonder if that was intended.

   I am so stoked about the Tau rumors! I really just want a unique army that isn’t just IG in a different skin. I can’t remember if you talked about it but I have also heard rumors of Tau specific terrain/fortification(s).

      Yes, all races are rumored to be getting fortifications specific to them. We’ve heard a lot of cool rumors about some of what’s out there! Webway gates for Eldar, Spore Chimneys for Nids, etc.
