Hey everyone, here’s a Video Battle Report to fill the gap until we finish our 6th edition walk through video.
It’s Jy2’s Wraithwing Crons vs. my Bjorn Wolves. It was a great game and definitely one to take note of as we both use some good tactics for and against shooty/assaulty lists.
And sorry in advance for my bitching about the dice, Jim is known for being crazy lucky and I can’t count how many games he and I have played where my tactics have been solid but nothing seems to work out! But that is the way it is in a dice game and crying about it doesn’t fix anything, so feel free to make fun of me! I deserve it for letting it get to me. Jy2 is a super nice guy. fun opponent and a very solid list builder and player. The guy must have been a saint in a past life too, because man is he lucky

Suck’s when the heavies don’ kill enough 2 make thing’s manageable,dread’s were poor counter-assault imo(2 slow) Jim could pick his fight’s,i know your list wasn’t tailored but couple of runepriest’s with jaw’s id tear those wraith’s a new 1 or at least make them think twice,simple fact is necron’s are far tougher prospect than they used 2 be n 6th could possibly make them even stronger(yuppie) im looking at combining scarab’s(crazy unit) n wraith’s 2 make playing it more fun 2 play(all of 1 gets boring imo) i still love my lith’s but not sure where they fit with necron’s new found mobility n sorry but u did whine like bitch over dice,not Jim’s fault he’s a lucky git,lovin the battle report’s,do as many as ye can dude’s,later’s 😉

Jaws doesn’t work on Wraiths, unfortunately (they’re ump infantry).
But yeah, Scarab/Spyder/Wraith combo is brutal, you will do well with it.
He usually is, but man that was a frustrating game!

Dice is a huge part of the game, but I did bitch about it waaaay to much in that game, I freely admit that!

“Jaws doesn’t work on Wraiths” true that, i had a brain freeze after a heavy weekend lol,liking wraith’s even more now,a lot of dude’s round my way play wolve’s(including me) god damn suck’s losing a c’tan 2 jaw’s or lord’s for that matter,destroyer lord would go nicely with them(wraiths) but giving up that 2nd court in light of faq is a big deal,ah well 6th is gonna change a lot of stuff so prob worth waiting(for 6th proper) 2 c if they(lords) get their EL roll after been hit with jaws 😉
Yeah, Crons are legit. They have what it takes to win a tournament, for sure. And 6th will be game changing, it will take a lot to relearn all that we have crammed into our brains.
I think the obvious solution is to roll Jy2’s dice instead of your own as they obviously hate you. Or throw yours in that microwave in the background. Your tactics are sound, but your dice leave you high and dry.
I actually wrote an article over at http://www.imperiusdominatus.com awhile ago, right when the codex came out about wraiths and how awesome they are. I can’t wait for the actual model, I’m going to field at least 8 in my 2k list. Reecius, where are y’all located? I’d love to come play if I’m ever in that area.
