- Some shout outs:
“This weekend is the 2nd Wargames for Warriors charity event. Set up by Warhammer Hero Mario Capizzo (provider of hilarious Utah drinks), this is a month-long event covering several game systems in the month of March supporting great charities. We are proud to raise money for the Fisher House Foundation, which finds and arranges food and housing for the families of sick and injured veterans, and the Children’s Miracle network. Kicking off this weekend there are events going on all month long, such as:
- 1. WFW Warhammer 40k GT at Gajo Games on March 2 – 3 (this weekend) – A five-round GT featuring players like Hobby Track 2019 Champion Lou Rollins, Chris Morgan from FTN, and
- Team Zero Comp’s Ben Cromwell.
- 2. Infinity ITS tournament at Shiv Games (March 9th)
- 3. Age of Sigmar Tournament at End Zone (March 16th)
- 4. Warmachine/Hordes at Oasis Games (March 30) plus open gaming across Utah all-day100% of every dollar we raise goes to the charities, and we will be live-streaming 40k games on extralife. If you aren’t able to make it over to Utah, you can still support the cause by sponsoring players for $1 per battle point earned by your chosen player, or by making donations on the extralife livestream. Lump sum donations are also welcome, as every little bit helps! We also have great prizes donated by stores and award-winning painters across the state (including Hobby Track champion 2019 Lou Rollins and runner up Micah (meeka meeka!) Merkley. There’s even an entire AoS Orruks army up for raffle, so don’t miss out on your chance to score sweet prizes and support great causes. Here are the links for the event and charities:

My life’s work is done. I can finally rest.
lolol
When will the LVO Sunday RTT scores be input into BCP?
Two big things I like about full army deployments:
1. DEFINITELY speeds up deployment, and gets rid of awkward moments where someone left a millimeter too little space with unit A and now have to budge it to fit unit B where they need it, but technically that would be cheating in alternating deployment.
2. I like the near-certainty on both sides of knowing if you need to deploy offensively or defensively. The alternating method sometimes leads to non-games where both players want to go first, and essentially have a coin flip after they’re locked in to their choice to see which player gets a massive advantage. (And yes, like you Reece, I don’t like seize being a thing at all.) A good example of this was that streamed finals game of… I can’t recall if it was nova or adepticon, but basically the players both deployed to go first, and then the one that failed to get first turn simply conceded on the spot.
Both deployments are far from perfect, as the entire I go you go system gives the first turn boogeyman immense weight either way. But under the assumption that they aren’t changing to combined turns/alternating activation mechanics, the full army deployment method is the best course of action.
