1. I have a question. Why are some people with higher total scores ranked lower than people with lower scores? EX: # 94-98… Those numbers are all messed up… Is there something that bumps you ahead of someone else?

   1. They are ranked by battle points, not combined scores. Look at the column titled total.

2. I think it would be every helpful in the future to have each player fill out a little sheet with there score for the game, then both players turn it in. We have all ready noticed that Jermey was given a loss in his first game when he really won. That coupled with the problem he had with his last game he had on day one that he talked to you about has left him a little upset

   1. I spoke to Jeremy, and I understand his concerns. We are already working on ways to streamline the process. With hundreds of results coming in, it is inevitable that some mistakes may be made. Frankie was double timing it and did his absolute best, but he may have made a data entry error. There was no malicious intent though, I assure you.

      If you have any ideas for ways to streamline, we are all ears. We’re considering bar code scanners, etc. We’ll figure out a way to minimize error and to speed things up.

      1. I completely under stand how hard it can be and I have no doubt that it was a honest mistake. But something like both players turning in there scores on paper and then both players having to be present to make a change to a score would be a fairly simple step in the right direction

         1. I think that is an excellent suggestion. In all honesty, we were so overwhelmed and running around at such a frantic pace, that we could barely keep up! Next year we will have more staff and we will have time to deal with issues like that and give them the time they deserve to fully resolve.

5. Awright, I scrolled through several times. Where’d Copper Waddle finish? I can’t see his name anywhere. His name isn’t really Noah Cooper is it?

6. Interesting mix of armies in the 40k top 10.
   I also notice that necrons don’t even feature in the top 20 and the only grey knights in the top 20 are an allied contingent. The metta really has shifted and with the new deamon dex I’m picking it’s changed even more than what these results might suggest.

   Can anyone shed any light on how much fliers played a part, especially in the lists towards the top of the draw?

   1. With Forgeworld it really mitigates Fliers. We put tall terrain on the tables though to help mitigate that, but it still really reigns them in.

   2. I had Necron alliesand finished 18th. Overall, armies with lots of flyers performed poorly. I only had 2.

   3. My IG had a Vulture and an Avenger to back up my artillery and worked well over the weekend. I was able to avoid interceptor fire using terrain or good positioning in the couple of games I had to face it.

7. Also had another idea. If I didn’t know you guys it would have been very hard to pick you and the rest of the staff out in the sea of people, I think maybe a brightly colored staff or judge shirt would be help full in finding a judge or a staff member if something comes up

   @ Shane fliers including flying MC’s played a part in almost every game I played. But no one I played spamed them at most they had 3 maybe 4 and if they did’t take fliers they took some form of Forge World AA like Saber platforms or Hyperios launchers. So they had a big effect on the event I would say.

   1. Yeah, we normally wear our Zero Comp shirts, but since we handed out the event shirts which look the same, we chose not to as we thought it would make it worse. Next year we will get neon colored shirts to make it easy.

9. Although I had the flu the entire weekend I had a blast (from what I can remember) and all of us here in Sacramento will be returning next year. As a TO I understand the challenges of running an event. The biggest issues from my point of view was table spacing (being cheek to cheek), being able to hear you or Frankie over the roar of players, time between games (to short IMHO) to take a break and much needed fresh air. The Player packets can always be improved as well as the result reporting process. However, all of these issues will be solved over time. Thanks for putting on the BAO.

10. I am not sure if this will help or not, seeing as I have never been to one of your events (I will be trying to next year). But with the scoring issue, I know that I have seen TO’s for other big events hand out a score sheet, when you come up to report hand the sheet in then you take a highlighter and highlight your name on a copy of the pairings roster. With the way you guys score, I would think that it would be easy enough to copy paste the pairing into excell or something where you have some additional fields (off to the left or on maybe on a seperate paper?) where the player/staff write the score. THis is so later in case there is a hiccup with the software or a problem arising due to miscalculation you have a two hard copies that will help you correct the problem.
    Of course like I said I have never been to one of your events (so you are probably already doing something like this) and it was something that was done by TO’s for a differant game (a card game in this case). I hope it helps though…
